    Great pictures
Anyone able to ID the ships?
I’m particularly interested in what I think is a cruiser in the front of the row of carriers in picture 1.
    Cheers

Thanks AIB, sorry didn’t realise that it was all left to you to reply to enquiries on the forum. Has a decision been taken as yet, still seems to be in discussion phase or do I feel that those in the know, know and those that aren’t are puzzled.
I would be glad to come if I can and yes I am sure we could organise a visit to HHA, however as we are situated on an active RAF base there would be security implications and I would probably have to restrict numbers. At our busiest time re maintenance at moment and in no time at all we will be in to the flying season. I will PM you with a possible date in the future, if I can find one.

    Hi
the next ‘official’ outing is to Twinwoods farm and Harrington on Sunday 20th March (one week before Easter). You’d be very welcome to join us. The plan is to meet at The Shuttleworth Collection first and have breakfast and then go on from there.
I think we’ll do Twinwoods first and then Harrington. I need to give the guy at Harrington numbers as he’s happy to put an extra guide on if there’s enough people to warrant it.

Hopefully you’re all happy with this.

Later on April 15th there’s Kev’s book signing at Brooklands.
Another worthy event–I might not be able to get to that (sadly).
    Hope this helps

How about the RAF Museum at Hendon (North London)? Can be reached by public transport, but quite a convoluted route. Much easier if you’ve got your own transport.

Shame I’m out of the country this weekend, or I’d gladly offer you a ride. Let me know next time you’re passing through!

Your birthday and a trip to England all in the same week.
    Have a good one.
    Thought about The Shuttleworth Collection?
Robbo and I will be there Saturday.
    Cheers

You ask for new people yet ignore request for details about the forthcoming forum meet, maybe someone was right when they said this was a bit of a clique.

I’m sorry I haven’t got back to you.
Partly because I’ve been having trouble with my service provider (NTL) and partly because I’ve been having PC problems and partly because this blinkin forum is up and down al the time.

Forum meets are usually informal, revolve around a visit to a museum or an event of special interest, or a place of interest, lunch (an excuse for a pub) pictures, p*ss taking and more photography and generally we all learn something and have a day out with like minded friends and fellow aviation enthusiasts.
They are very informal–I think it’s safe to say that.
So, yes we’d be glad to see you come along and also if you’ve got a venue that we could visit–all the better.
Again sorry that I haven’t written sooner but I have a few mitigating circumstances.
I’ll also drop you a PM.
    Thanks
    Andy

Never mind Rob, but I’ll probably be busy at the museum anyway.

    Geoff.

if you could get to Colindale on the Northern line that morning.
(20th March) I’ll come down there and pick you up.

    Let me know

    Hi
The Twinwoods Farm museum is open on the weekend of 19th/20th March. The lady there E-mailed back last night.
I suggest therefore Sunday 20th March is the best day.
So should we meet at OW for brekkers? Then we can follow the Jeep to Twinwoods.
Do you think it’ll make Northamptonshire too?

Oh, and B130 I object to you neck comment. You felt the need to comment originally so I assumed you warranted a response.
So why don’t you wind yours in first?
    Cheers
    Andy 😀 😀 😀

PS Does putting a smilie face after a sarcastic comment make it OK then?

Yes but 5 pages and 5 stars, can’t you just Pm each other 😀

    Well no actually.
If you bothered to read the posts you’d see that the idea is to encourage new people to come along.

You’d be welcome too but it seems to me you’d rather just sit back and be critical.

It’s shame really that people are so negative. In the last year a group of like minded people have got to be friends in a way that will probably long outlast this forum. I personally have been places that I would never have dreamed of getting into.

I’ve made firm friends in Australia, New Zealand and America also in several European countries.
No one ever said this is a club and you can’t join and I’ve never heard it said to anyone else.
So it’s up to you if want to participate or not.
If you don’t, it’s no skin off my nose–your loss actually.
Seeing as you don’t pay anything for the upkeep of this site–what’s your problem?

See you at Twinwoods and Harrington then?

    It ain’t rocket science.
It’s about a trip to Harrington and Twinwoods (they’re museums–hence historic) on the weekend before Easter.
There’s also a book signing at Brooklands–the books about Bomber Command–also historic.
Why don’t you join the clique and meet some new friends.
    You might actually enjoy yourself.

If you want some extreme examples of how warped the whole Dresden propaganda industry has become, go to:

    http://forum.axishistory.com/

Search for Dresden threads (they’re not hard to find) and then boggle at the mindless drivel that gets routinely spouted about it all.

    Over and over again…

    Scary site.
Never been there before–doubt I’ll visit again.
    Dresden happened.
It was war–things like that happen in war.
I think the post war media has tried to sell us in the west a concept that it was like a large game of Cricket with each side abiding by a set of rules.
Of course nothing was further from the truth.
    There were no rules.
Bomber Command had a job to do–they got on and did it (and suffered grievious losses in the process).
    I don’t have a problem with that.

Really! I’d never have noticed 😀

Of course you look like a man who only eats to live, I imagine food plays only an insignificant part in your life. 🙂 😉 🙂 😉 🙂

Now who else is coming to this meet?
