    Re 117

Lady Thatcher’s State funeral? Don’t worry old son, you keep your pennies in your pocket. I’ll gladly pay your share.

Good because I wouldn’t if I had any say in the matter.

    David,
this bloke wouldn’t have agreed with you.

You should read his book–very enlightening, and I guess he knew a bit about the subject too.
    Ruined his career though.

As to Andy and his comment perhaps he would like me to set fire to anyones grave who served in the Falklands as well.#71.
I look forward to commerating her funeral and remember with respect what she did well and the things she tried which unfortunately did not. Like her or loath her as you wish but please show some respect for the dead and their families.
If you can’t do that perhaps its better to keep you mouth shut, or as the low lifes would say “zip your gob.”

    Paul.
I’ve always had a lot of respect for your comments but please don’t p*ss up my back and then tell me it’s raining.
Also, please don’t tell me my duty to this country or any ex-servicemen–because I know plenty and am related to a number and I’ll really get snotty then.

You and I know both know, that the Government of this country had no interest in the Falklands prior to the invasion, and that’s not left wing b*llocks–that’s fact which is is well written about, including by those who served there.
My God, the year before, they were going to cut the Royal Navy to the bone and scrap the only bl**dy ship we had down there (HMS Endurance). Where do you think those plans came from and were approved–a f*cking lavatory behind Victoria Station or the Cabinet rooms??.
Thatcher saw it as a God given opportunity to salvage popularity.

And I won’t change my views–I grudge every penny for her state funeral.
    Waste of money.

Speaking personally I wouldn’t want to hit a thirty foot long knob as I hurtled into a corner on me sportsbike.
    Quite nasty I’d say–painful too.

    Why?
He’s entitled to his say the same as the rest of you.
Personally, I think much of what he says is true and if he’s without much sympathy, well non of you, with some of the bile I’ve read here are in a position to comment–or judge.

As the non-aligned member here, for all I care you can throw petrol over the body and light it and that goes for all politicians and I don’t care who knows it.
And before you lecture me on respect, it needs to be earned, a quality I’ve yet to see in a politician.

The country is currently up sh*t creek.
That’s the fault of bad leadership.
That didn’t start with Thatcher, or Blair or even McBrown.
Lloyd George possibly, or even earlier.

I was thinking of ‘The Village’.
Plenty of 1940’s stuff about with owners needing a bit of financial help too.
