the names of the subs (just found out) in the operation are:
SS-32 “Antofagasta” and SS-31 “Angamos” (209 both)
and the Navy comandos in Peru are called FOES (Fuerza de Operaciones ESpeciales = special operations force, same idea as the navy seals)

i knew that chinese investments are important in Peru but honestly i wasnt aware it was “that” important.
also it seems to me that the fishing is a private chinese affair and i doubt that the chinese government has any involvment in the matter (i sure hope)

what our friend F5M says is true, i clearly remember that oceanic life in the region was almost extinct for a while from overfishing, legal and illegal (no exageration, it was devastating 😮 ) as usual scientists were ignored untill it was too late 😡

what our good friend Victor says is also truth, thats the exact term, in fact i believe Canada (i live in montreal 😉 )should have adopted a similar EEZ to protect the oceanic life, i remember the devastation on the Newfoundland economy when suddenly …”there was no more fish” (the SOB b. malroney times) again scientists spoke for a long time and they were ignored ( 😡 again)

our chinese friends here are all decent people 😎 , i know no bad feelings are to happen and we know the fishing companys do not represent in any way the chinese people, they have all my respect (li ho mah 🙂 )

it seems that the 209’s were shadowing them and the Lupo’s came from very deep in the open sea for the chase to cut the escape route, the fishers noticed and tried to run but only to face the frigates “face to face”
i’m not a naval expert but it seems to me that it was a very good hunt.
