a wheel assy. leaving the aircraft? 😮
yes its posible, it has happened before and it will happen again, but no wheel assy separates unless the “locking devices are not installed” whatever shape or form it takes (bolts/nuts, cotter-pins etc) if they are not there, it will lose the nut and the wheel.
this doesnt mean bad mechanics, bad maintenance has many forms such as philosophy or simply…no philosophy, the inhability to find out when fatigue is taking place among the techies, exessive pressure, lack of training etc are factors, one thing is for sure, the faster you order your techies to do it…the likely you’ll have problem.
now dont get me wrong, i am not saying anything about anybody (indian air force nor any other) honest mistakes are natural, we are only humans, but the system should de designed in such a way that will “filter” the “human factors” that will provoque yet another technically caused “incident”.
that’s my one cent humble oppinion.
Camaro.
about the B-707 (condor) i know that 707’s and DC-8’s require an A check every 50 hours, it can be done if no problems are found in around 6 hours.
B checks are every 500 hrs and take much longer, the JT3D engines are now just too old and parts are rare, specially the FCU’s (properly overhauled that is). the guys i know flying AWACS (NATO) told me how long was to fly 12 hours straight, to me its use by FACH will have to be very very careful.
about flying caracteristics, the huge nose and side fairings of the condor sure generate a lot of drag, but i’m sure its performance is close to that of the AWACS.
i’m sure FACH people knows that and have a planned way of putting it to action if required (no doubt in my mind)
saludos sapito.

Cesar?
you mean …Cesar Cruz?
i’m honoured, i’ve read you before and i have a deep respect for you 😎
keep up the good work brother 🙂
i’m trying to send you a private message, but your private mail is blocked, please check. 😀
thanks for making things clear, its good to know that finally something its being done.
the million dollar question is… what will the Migs get?
we’ll see in time. 😉
Camaro
thanks sapito 😎
one thing, i’ve learned about the existence of an anti-radiation missile in FAP’s inventory (SU-22) back in the 80’s, from a retired su-22 pilot, i can only assume that is the KH-58 (he didnt said no name) years latter another source confirmed this.
but you see, i cant prove it
like Mr: Spoke said: it could be a whole lot of BS 😀
anyway, i wonder how effective would the KH-58 be in modern ECM environments.
thanks again.
Camaro
it was here again yesterday (CYMX= Montreal Mirabel) i’ll bring my camara today and if we are lucky will take some pics to share 😉
(warning, its the cheapest camara ever, so dont expect super quality pics, i’m a poor man 😀 )
Camaro
to me its plain simple…
2 air forces with the best equipment there is… the best pilots won 😮 , thats it, thats all, i dont care for excuses nor conpiracy to get F-22 stories
sure we will never see this in “Top Gun 2”
now the USAF/navy is not dummies, they know now what went wrong and they will be pumping the few billions it will take to get that fix.
on the other hand, Israeli air force isnt dummies either and they wont “sleep in their glory dreams” they’ll keep looking ahead.
Camaro
Same stuff as all the other (former) Soviet Su-25s, and i don’t think these were actually downgraded when they were sold to Peru. The MiG-29s surely weren’t, so why would the far less sensitive Frogfoot be monkeyfied?
you’re right Arthur, none of those were downgraded.
another, the KH-58 makes sense, but they are in stocks for a long time now, since the Su-22 can also fire it.
about the SEAD Su-25, thats good NEWS to me 😀 (i didnt knew)
nice pic Baphomet dude. 😉
Camaro.
all nuclear weapons to me are big time BS, undesirable, ugly, stupid, stinky and every single bad name in existence and including those bad names yet to be invented. 😡 (this goes also for those who invented them and those who still make money with them)
sorry but i hate nukes with passion
Camaro.
well, it seems that our ruskiye druks 😀 have arrived..
i’ve read a few days ago that the work of reviving the transport fleet (aircraft and helos) will begin 2-morrow (monday) and after this is done will be the time for the combat fleet, got no idea about how long its gonna take  but at least it will be done.
hey sapito, where are you??? 🙂 give us “da news” man.
can you please clarify these news? we have…”the NEED to know” 😀
Camaro.
i havent seen them in person, but only a rafale on video
is there any EF2000 video to compare?
thanks
Camaro.
here goes a Peruvian Su-25.
i wonder what kinda’ equipment it had when it was belarusian.
Camaro.
but, what happens with the affected area?
doesnt radiation stays there for a few billion years? or it just desappears? vanishes? (i need some explanation please 🙂 )
in any case, if radiation stays it would render the neutron bomb…
the most ridiculous non-sense in universal history 😡
taking the crown from the A and the H bombs respectively.
Camaro
i dont know bud, all i can see is the “shadowless” little friend about to…
Flyyyyy Hiiiiigh
back to real flying, there is another thread here about that machine, very nice by the way.
Camaro
consider also that airctaft technicians are in very close proximity with some atrocious chemicals,
20 years ago, health and safety were not even consider by many people, is just in recent years that regulations have been sharpened and more people are becoming more serious about (health and safety)
Camaro.
i have no idea…
but sure thing its not ice detectors (at least any that i know), it could be lights, but if it is on a fast platform, then it doesnt make sense, the best way to illuminate any particular area is with a flush assembly (like those we see on airliners) you just see the glass flush with the structure and the bulb inside at the apropiate angle.
RWR? at those angles? well its not my area of expertise, perhaps our good brother aerospacetech has the answer 🙂
pretty good thread BTW 😉
