Signed.
I believe that most politicians can’t remember more than 5 years……

Thanks to all the regulars who keep us up to date and best wishes for the holidays.

As a local the only recovery attempted in recent years has been the Hurricane at Denton wharf. As covered in a recent thread on a petition about the possible excavation. Of course Gravesend was a fighter base which operated both Spitfires and Hurricanes during the war. Something may have been found on there (the site has been built on for about 50 years.)

Some excellent quality photos there, a nice legacy.

If it hasn’t flown for 40 years it will need considerable work (and money) to bring it back to airworthy standard?
Connie Edwards has been quoted as saying the price asked is what he wants.
I wonder if a prospective customer with $3M burning a hole in his pocket would be prepared to wait (perhaps for a year?) when a flyer might be available now for around the same price?

Excellent design and layout. Daylight all round and large aircraft sheltered. Perhaps how it should have been done
at Duxford in the Land Warfare museum site? I wonder how it was funded?

I have checked two local history forums I am a member of in Kent but neither have a thread on this vessel.
It may have occurred out of the area?

As Duxford unlike most museums (especially London) charges up to £17.50p I am surprised they need to cut
staff and services. Or are Duxford’s takings subsidising the other sites?

147,000x 15secs saved a day! Unless someone hits the concrete. 😀

I believe this one starred in one of the ‘Test Pilot’ programmes on BBC. Its unique ‘Flight control simulator’ would be
the reason it has remained in service so long. Will it be replaced? or will future students have make do with a
ground sim? The series is on Utube.

Didn’t reverse engineer a Piston Provost or did they? 🙂

I’ll just leave this here… I’d love to see a Phantom at Newark Air Museum.
Perhaps that should be ‘a whole one.’ 🙂
mmitch.
I try to visit Newark every year or so (it’s near 200 miles from me) and I have always felt welcome on my visits.
I am not put off by other people’s negative comments as I have often read on here and other forums opposite views
to my own. A couple of museums mentioned on here I felt uncomfortable in and haven’t returned to, but that is just
my opinion.

Not bad. It was 24 degrees yesterday. 🙂

I think you would at least need to know weather the ‘electronics’ were radar or radio related. There are radio groups like at Duxford or radar experts like the RAF Radar Museum that might be able to identify what is in those boxes.
