Yes I had read that thanks. ‘6 Buchons to Europe’ but I think that even a ARCO or a Meir Motors would be pushed to restore that lot!
mmitch.
Is the destination(s) of the airframes known yet? I read the ‘on their way to Europe may be UK’ rumours in the Summer.
Surely if several are to be restored they will end up at separate facilities?
I’m sure that 2 seater would be the first on any list. 🙂

I have registered and have viewed the first week of the course. The introductory video shows us around the RAF museum in general while talking about the course. The others I have viewed concentrated on early flight and up to WW1.
While some of the content is well known, I think that the videos are too short to convey the details of that period.
We shall see how the following two weeks go.

I hope that ‘Battle of Britain tower’ idea will stay on the back burner, or will the museum be looking for someone who will support it?

I have seen several Guy Martin programmes on engineering. On one he was helping to repair a railway and mend a pier!
He of course features in the TT races on the Isle of Man.
I believe he is actually an HGV mechanic. I expect he would be flattered to be called ‘A successor to Fred Dibnah’!

Also a decent read, ‘Vulcan 607’ by Rowland White.

Yes, sorry finger trouble!

The one thing that has put me off several magazines over the years, is the use of coloured print against a coloured background. Black on green was one of the worst and even changing from black on white to white on black in the same line! Not funny when like I was at one time, struggling with poor reading sight.

Perhaps after PA474 has had its major service, WR963 will be nearing flight and we can look forward to seeing them fly together. The only downside is the growl will drown out the Merlins! 🙂
mmitch.
More pertinently what will they be flying? The Hawk Ti is now 40 years old and production stopped some time ago.
There are too few T2s to enable the Reds to have a dozen. May be if McD build the new US Navy trainer they could be persuaded to sponsor the Reds by supplying them too!

Perhaps the LAA could show the CAA how its done?
mmitch.
May be the £210,000 includes the CAA’s paperwork? But it would be optimistic to expect them t get it done for 12 aircraft in a year!

Looks like the BBMF are going to escort the CWHM team away from their home for the last 6 weeks.

Camlobe.
Gibson and his bomber leader Hayes? had come to Manston to watch an ‘upkeep’ test at Reculver. As they took off to return home the engine cut out and they landed in a field. I believe it was a Magister luckily, not a Lanc….!
