Again.
Bump.
I expect you guys have already seen a book called ‘Glider pilots at Arnhem’
I was reading it recently and it made most references to the ‘chalk numbers’
One of the more amusing references was that 12 ‘stowaways’ were known!
RAF and Army types who wanted to go too!
mmitch.
Maybe like the old Soviet Union parades where a few of the newer types flew circuits of Moscow to make it look as if they had far more. 😉

Do the USAF still fly the ‘Stores Van’?

The restrictions originally announced would have put severe strain on Old Warden and Duxford running airshows in the later half of the year.
There was an interesting article in Aeroplane last year about the Historic Aircraft Association meeting officials for the first time about it.
Thankfully common sense seems to have prevailed. The restrictions will still hit some flying schools in the South East though.

Comparing the run down of Bae Systems with Rolls Royce. They employ 22,000 at Derby and have an order book full to 2018. I believe BAe employ more abroad than they do in the UK now.

They were building Hawks at Dunsfold until it closed. Then it moved to Brough. I suppose now it will move to McDonnell Douglas?
mmitch.
Strange that they give the location as Dumfries and Galloway but the map peg shows it in the Lake District?!
