I agree about the state and treatment of the Victor and the Shackleton. I should point out however the the F15 was reassembled by USAF personnel from Lakenheath, the F15 base in the UK.

Indeed. I did try to work out how many horsepower my engine would have it was the same spec as the F1 engines. They are 1500cc? and stick out about 600hp? Mine is 8.2 litres (500 cu in) and sticks out 145!

3 Litre V10 4 valves per cyl. Upto 19,000 RPM Reputed to give around 700 HP.

There is a half page story in today’s ‘Daily Mail’ The aircraft is a Auster J1N. The photo shows the fuselage stripped of covering from cockpit to tailplane. The aircraft is based at Oaksey Park. No reg. visible. Estimated £10,000 damage. 😮
