Is there any sort of spotters/parking area at Luton now? Pre Easy Jet there was a small car park where you could park for an hour or two. They took it for Easys offices. More of a money maker I suppose.

There was a feature on BBC London last night. The Science museum has around 100 store rooms under the main museum that the public cannot normally see. Some of these are to be opened to small groups by arrangement. I suppose they might have some on aviation. 🙂

He was very unlucky to end up on the edge of that quarry. The Cliffe works ones are far more extensive. Would the Kent Messenger have any details? I bought Bob Ogden’s book on the Battle of Britain and the photos used all came from them, including crash sites. Maybe they covered later ones, although they might not have been published.

Manston is only a few miles from Pfizers, the pharmaceutical giant. I saw the same aircraft at Manston a month ago. Perhaps its leased by them?

RAF Manston was used as an emergency landing field and received many damaged bombers. There are cliffs within a few miles, around Dover and Folkstone. The Manston History Museum has photos etc of accidents on and around the area. perhaps they can help?

At a Large Model Show last year I was amazed to see the continuous parade of punters carrying large boxed kits back to their cars. I wondered how many got finished? Some of those vendors must have taken a month or more earnings in 2 days….

What did the loads look like on the flights?

I counted around 50 pax walking out for the 3.30. flight to AMS.
I think the early start might be a no no. Its only 45mins check in before departure, but that means a 5.30 latest arrival at the airport. 🙁
