Oh I forgot, my 😡 Avenger gets shot down “again” by a Tora Zero…..
The airshow for Friday is a dusk one with night aeros and the F-111 :p dump and burn. Also the fabulous Connie torching on all four….
Saw a couple here in Oz when I was in the RAAF. One memorable occasion at Amberley AFB when one lost an engine on takeoff. Very little climbing but lots of fuel dumping before returning for a 3 engine landing. Was there bringing in stuff for our then new F-4E’s.
Spencer Tracey starred and flew P-38’s..B-25 plus a few others in there as well. Based in the South West Pacific>>>
I liked Always…
You’re right about the Cat and A26 shots. A Guy named Joe had even more interesting aircraft…
Don’t forget it was designed originally to have the maestro of engines, the P&W R-2800. The RR Griffon thingie was an after thought. So clean up the belly put a well sculptured close cowled 2800 on her and see how she looks…
I flew the Cat NB-N when it was in Oz…
Is that Sword a flyer???
Good point. The engine is the ‘easy’ bit…
JP, how about a full size replica of the CA-15 for static together with the “Lady Southern Cross”????? :diablo:
Patto you’re welcome anytime in the deep north of Qld…
Should be restored to her final configuration in my opinion. This is history in itself….
Thanks for showing my Avenger and Tora Zero. Both located in Brizvegas at this time. The Zero has been sold to a local Briz guy who flies it reularly. Both aircraft will appear at the Avalon Air Show next month….
Why wouldn’t the RNZAF want two good museums.? One in the north and one south??? Also describing a Bristol Freighter as gorgeous is playing with the English language…haha
One aspect lost by some is that the deals are not “secret” but rather “commercial in confidence” until the ink is dry. This is a very very small community when it comes to oeners etc etc and speaking from experience I have been reported as having donme something with my aircraft without even a phone call to check the “real story”. Hence one tends to keep the information on the QT until after the event.
