I seem to remember some years back when a Foxbat pilot defected to Japan that the US were all over the aircraft before giving it back. There was much scoffing at the valve technology employed, until it dawned that it was to prevent EMP damage to the electronics?

Nobody wears an oxygen mask in the movies, the bad guy always has a black helmet and aeroplanes have to howl like a banshee when there’s a problem.

How else would we know what was going on?

The logical extension of what you’re saying here is that George Galloway agrees with rape/sexual assault.

    This whole thing stinks.
Assange has genuine cause to worry about extradition to the US and I don’t think public opinion would prevent him getting life or worse, and for what?

The US says he’s ‘cost lives’, but won’t elaborate. Perhaps they’re trying to justify chasing him because he’s let out some of their dirty little secrets. They’ve achieved a partial result already by signalling to any other potential whistleblowers that they’ll be chased to the ends of the earth.

Charges in Sweden which were dropped are dusted off and resurrected, and even though he’s offered to be interviewed in a safe location, the Swedes won’t accept that, even though the charges are only allegations at this stage. There is every possibility that that the whole thing is orchestrated to get Assange into a position where the US can extradite him.

Regardless of whether Assange is a coward or a hero, it’s the UK, Swedish and US governments who look like the bad guys in this sorry mess.

IF the US and Sweden would agree not to have him extradited, he would have no justification for holing up in the embassy. Because the US and Sweden won’t agree to this, it makes it appear as if there is a hidden agenda.

As long as Assange can claim there is such a threat, justice in the Swedish criminal case isn’t being served and he can legitimately claim asylum.

Benyboy, your diagram only shows the aerofoil one way up. If you simply invert the diagram, you will have a negative angle of attack and lift exerting a downforce. If you invert the aerofoil and give it a positive angle of attack, you will have lift as an upward force, albeit inefficiently.
