Sorry Moggy, I thought you’d seen the NOTAM… I didn’t know that your first post quoting 20th August to 7th September was purely a wild stab in the dark! Will done!!

Read the NOTAM again… “RESTRICTED AREA(TEMPORARY) FOR VULCAN TEST FLYING AT BRUNTINGTHORPE.” I don’t know what you saw on your NOTAM, but mine says ‘test flying’… Not test flight, ferry flight, one way trip to Waddington… Or anything else… Test flying! So, thank you for your valuable input, but I think we all know that the FIRST flight would have to be from Bruntingthorpe.

    I’ll get my coat!

Looks like a lot of things changed in 558’s hangar last night… I see that she’s come down off her jacks and has her nose fitted! (in white!)!!!

I thought the plan was to conduct flight testing from Waddington… Something to do with there not being enough fire cover at Brintingthorpe to satisfy the CAA… Or is that just another of those many rumours that seem to go around?

A friend and I spoke with the owner about the tower several years ago. We were wanting to convert it into a house. Apparently several people have shown an interest in the tower. We took a builder (who is also a friend) to see the site and give us his opinion. He was of the opinion that at least one side would have to come down due to the severe water dammage. The costs were just two high for us… But ye, it’s a fantastic place… I have to say, EVERYONE we spoke too told us it was haunted… (By two Polish airmen!)

FB… Then maybe thats why they asked you to leave, but we had to stay? There certainly was a lot of FOD about! What were you displaying? Maybe thats also why at least one of the indian IL76’s is still here too…because it’s stuck in ‘Alfa’ surrounded by coke cans and burger wrappers!!!

    Fournier Boy,
Are you military or civilian? I’m a civy, but my ac is up at Waddington for the show… We weren’t asked to fly out. On the contrary, we were told tonight that no aircraft are allowed to start up on the ‘public side’ because of the huge FOD problem that they now have. I was there at 6 this evening, and there were plenty of civilian aircraft on site… Tiger Moth, Austers, AN2 chipmunks etc… As for the Indians… Do you mean they were leaving, or there aircraft were leaving? Their aircraft were still there at 6pm… I thought that they are there for the next 2 or 3 weeks?

Dave J, I’ve just got back from Waddington where I was on the base making sure our aircraft is safe from the high winds…

Believe me, the weather has put an end to the show this year… The airfield is a mud bath… some parts look not too dissimilar to a farmers field after he’s just ploughed it!!!

1 group… most of the aircraft are still on the field so, weather permitting, there will probably be some departures tomorrow.

It’s a same, I had people fly over from Poland especially for the show… They decided to come today because yesterdays forecast was rubbish… Shame they missed it!

1 Group, I’m not sure how many aircraft will be departing tomorrow… The Waddington forecasters are saying that there will be heavy showers and thunder tomorrow. I suppose a lot of it will be down to where they’re departing for? I’ve got an aircraft stuck up on the camp at the moment, if there is a break in the weather this afternoon, then I’m going to try and get her out, but I’m not holding my breath!!!!

Bex, when the gates are open and all you have to do is pay your £16, I dont think it would be too hard for anyone to get onto the base this weekend!!!

It really is a mess up there on the camp… I they had no option but to cancel… Shame.

Please excuse my ignorance, but is it a problem if the winds move / turn the props?

Is there any more news as it to if / when we might see a Shac gracing our (UK!) skys once more?

    Regards

Old fart… the web site you want is here… http://www.reynardnursery.co.uk

Go to the news section and watch the tv clip… http://wm.stv.tv/210407plane.wmv

Like I said, I think it’s a really nice idea but £400 per night sounds a bit much to me! Looks like they’re currently waiting to get the required planning permissions!

    Damien,

Are you really telling us that XX119 landed so fuel critical that it had to turn off early? Come on… I dont think so! (at least i hope not!)

1946… Thanks for sharing that with us. Can you post another so we can see her colours?

We took our Terrier for a ‘evening flight’ earlier this month… I hope you all enjoy the attached!

HHA Eng… How is the Buc’s return to flight going, and do you have any idea when you expect her to make that first flight?

I watched both the fly pasts today… They were practising over Lincoln. Lots of the big flypasts seem to practice over Lincoln.. I can only assume that they use the cathedral as ‘Buc house’!!

Anyway, the first flypast looked pretty good. The 9 Typhoons looked great! But I don’t know what happened to the Falklands flypast… 3 Typhoons, then a VC10 with 4 hawks… Then a solo Nimrod:(

I don’t know what happened to the rest of them… No Dominies, no Hercules and no helicopters at all! – Is there another practice going on elsewhere?

    1 group / All…

Did anyone get a photograph of the mustang ‘fly-by’ on the Saturday? – I’d love you see it if you did.. I’ve never seen a fly-by like that before… Outstanding!

How about Auster VX927?… I flew her in… did anyone get any snaps of her that they’d like to share?
