Coltishall is within commuting distance of Norwich or Cromer. All it would need to make it more suitable for pensioners is a small supermarket and a bingo hall.

For all you knockers of replica Spitfires. What would you rather fly, a replica, or nothing. That’s the choice most of us have. As for flying one, you’d hardly notice the reduction in size. Here are a few photos taken at my field where one being built was visited by a completed one.
Dave, you don’t have to open the cockpit to see if she still has her radar. Just remove the rad-dome. If memory serves me well, this is a one man job and takes about 3 minutes. No specialist tools required.
Hey Everybody, Happy new year. We’ve started on the right note. Today’s temperature is going to reach 41 degrees (105.8) lol. Sorry, couldn’t resist.
Nobody got an answer to my question re AI23 radars?
G’day Dave. Looks like you’ve got yourself a project for life. I can’t help I’m afraid but I have a question for you and any one else. With all the ‘saved’ Lightning’s, whether whole or sectioned, are the radars AI23 etc still fitted or are the bullets just ballasted? If the radar was scrapped, did it go back to Ferranti for disposal?
Going back to this post if I may. War horse is brilliant, go and see it. I thought this might intrigue you before hand though. War Horse was originally a novel, then a stage play. This is how they portrayed a horse on stage. Quite long so get settled. It too, is brilliant.

Hot off the press
Just had a reply to an email I sent to my son who’s currently serving at MPA, transport division.
Re the Phantom Gate Guard. She is being scrapped but her cockpit is going to the Stanley museum. He says the rest of her it rotten.
How does he know……………he’s moving her.
I don’t know when this takes place but trust me, my son doesn’t lie.
I also asked him his take on the Argentinean rumblings about ownership of the islands and whether the UK could defend them again. He wasn’t too explicit about it but, reading between the lines, he hopes to ‘jump ship’ before that may eventuate ie, no, the islands couldn’t be defended.
I hope he’s wrong in his assessment but who knows?
Red Dog. Not every ones taste but a true story.
Going to see War Horse this Arvo.

If only my father was still alive. He’d be able to help you as he was building them at the outbreak of war. Strangely enough, I was born in Hampden Road, Harrow Weald.
Good luck with you project.
The Glydesdale – obviously the unpowered, slope soaring cousin of the Clydesdale!
Damn spell checker got to the festive spirit.:D
I think the aeroplane. But horse lovers are welcome to join in.
Don’t know about the plane but the horses are Welsh Cobs crossed with Glydesdale’s………………prove me wrong :diablo:
This should get Wyvernfan’s juices flowing. Keep us inform Mark.
