Whilst both pictures are well done and capture the imagination of a lot of people, in reality, no plane dropping an atomic bomb would ever be so low and still so close to the explosion as the shock waves travels one hell of a lot faster than they do.

Deano, pity you weren’t a bit lower going over the River Tay as then I’d be able to see my home back in the 80’s. Situated on the opposite bank to Dundee, midway between the bridges is the village of Wormit where RAF Woodhaven used to be. I lived in the ground floor flat of Rock House and loved it especially when the wind got up and sent waves splashing against the bedroom windows.

That was his catch phrase, but still can’t think of the program name.

My God, that’s going back a bit. I used to enjoy listening to Wilf on the radio. Can’t remember his wife’s name though, nor the name of his program. Can you?

    The Australian Grasshopper

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it would be about this aircraft. I know which I’d rather have.

Grasshopper (Aus, 81). The Grasshopper was designed in Australia by Colin Winton as an ultralight aircraft, weighing only 254 lbs when empty. Single-seat, mid-wing ultralight. Fuselage fiberglass with tube, fiberglass and Dacron wings. Wings removable for transport. Forerunner of Jackaroo. Wing span 27’.

Just found this thread. Some great photos folk. Given the right time and place, the artist in all of us come to light. Anyway, I’d like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and add a shot here.
