what does this have to do with a military aviation related site?
diff engines on some versions and that is the only difference right down to the ‘trim’
djnik,
yes this forum is about aircraft and it used to be a great deal better, however, since some people have decided to bring politics (including YOU) into the equation this forum has on the whole nose dived to somewhere to squabble about indo-pak relations (or lack of), how great china is(nt), and what did or did not happen during the conflict discussed here.
i have no interest in the petty squabbling of obvious political liars, on all sides of the world, and i do not see how this squabbling impinges in any way on an aviation related forum, however it still exists. Why? i suppose its because its a free world….you had an interesting topic concerning the maintainability of the mig-29s however you chose to purport this thread as a dig against what nato achieved during this conflict, you backed this up using an obviously spurious, and politically motivated source.
Perhaps in future you (and OTHERS) will refrain from using this forum as an outlet for some very loosely based political opinion.
You have the right to say whatever you want, however that does not mean everyone else wants to hear about it….perhaps we should all consider this in posts from now on.

Tut tut, people telling porkies should be punished. Especially unsubstantiated porkies.
come djnik and serbPVO be big boys and back up your claims properly…or cant you do that?, because your not telling the truth?
There really is one(or two at least here) born every minute.
excellent photo’s as ever frank!
looks to me that there are two major differences between the photo’s:
1)night
2) different camera angle
I dont see anything special (except the large radar cross section)
joe, i believe this is china’s attempt at an aircraft carrier (or at least the island of an aircraft carrier)
if we tell you the material YOU can go work out the youngs modulus and the tensile strength its very easy to do when you do it right
😉

it is extremely likley that foas will constitute somthing along lines very similar to the ‘netcentric’ based command and control gripen and its ucav’s

spain have their F-18’s and there harriers…..dont know particulalry if they have IFR kit for their harriers tho. and they will most prob be wanting ifr aircraft for eurofighters debut
the longer tailwheel could be to compensate for the poor view…i dont think it was fitted to all g versions like the ‘galland hood’ (or kamelhuber??? ) might be wrong.
it would lower the aoa of the wings so might make for a longer/faster takeoff run tho.
a little somthing…….
just to keep things moving, sorry for the size:(

😀

as a related aside….allot of crated TSR2 bits and pieces (airframe stuff) was ‘rediscovered’ at MOD Disposals Aston Down(i fly gliders from there) in one of the old hangers. Apparantly there was an auction to clear the hanger, and all the tsr2 bits were sold to one private bidder!
lucky so and so!

aww deano, course i do…but you’ll have plenty of (legal amount) fare paying passengers there! maybe next time!
coanda:D
i would imagine the ‘what if’s run for pages…..
just loosing the connection from one pipe is probably enough to down an aircraft if blc was in use (slow speed etc etc…) its complex enough because of its effects on the performance of the aircraft.
which is not to say that it will not be looked after properly, however it has to be said that its not somthing you hear about being a problem with this particular aircraft…
buccsociety would you be able to expand on how they cleaned out the blc system as i have a pic which seems to show water being blown out of the blc exits…….is this ‘normal practice’
coanda
no offence but i think i’ll stick to the ground that day…should really crack on and finish the required bits to get my licence…..i will prob end up learning at filton…pretty hard to miss the runway there i think…
