She was first viewed at Farnborough in ’51 with an all over bare metal scheme and then re-appeared in 1954 in the Yellow markings.
Sea Fury’s……now this is a Sea Fury…..September Pops 😉
Now your just been silly.
It was just a thought……err, people make these comments and before ya know it……………. 😉
it still exists but I cannot divulge where on an open forum….I’ll get shot.
Fair enough mate…….case closed 😉
A Blue Steel maybe…..Errr…….maybe not!
Ah, but Rob, do you know the story as to why it was missing in the first place…… 😉
I don’t actually Mark, no. I knew it was a part we aquired after we got 699 and knew about it being off XA801. I just presumed the original was damaged beyond repair. Killer word that, presume!!
by the way mate if you need a camera let me know, can loan you a digi one if that helps at all?
Very much my friend, very much indeed. Thankyou 😉
Dont worry about the pic quality Rob. Its the person thats behnd the camera that makes the picture. Thats what I keep telling myself anyway.
Dont you think the roundals would look nicer in the pastel shades with pale blue cheatline and serial ala white anti flash Vulcans?
Good point Martin……..I’ll get right on it tomorrow 😀 😀
I’ll ignore the comment about the person behind the camera……… :diablo:
Wow she looks so much better than she did in that naff yellow
He He 😀 😀
inside a Vulcan bomb-bay… (looking aft per chance?)
DAMMIT!!!! 😡
I KNOW, I KNOW……..please let me give the game away Les :diablo: 😀
Its worth noting that the detachable pen nib section at the rear is not from the same airframe. That came off XA801
I wasn’t actually going to mention that bit Mark but heh ho 😀
Those are absolutly superb pictures!!!!!!
I envy your visit there my friend. It must of been unforgettable!!
We have got a good base to work on but I’m more concearned with the corroding sections of the airframe that need a lot of attention before I even think about painting her, but we’ll get there 😉
some more…….
