I would imagine that the nose section has already been earmarked for some museum somewhere 😉
I agree on the latter.
It just goes to show that people will go to any extreme to get extra money for themselves. The fact they are all alive is a testiment to the aircraft the company Boeing and the pilots.
It’s discusting if you ask me:mad:
Not only are BA picking up their (insurance) compensation for the accident. Turns out some of the passengers are already going to the personal injury lawyers.
😡
I want to build a 1:6 or there abouts scale jet model of the Sea Vixen. Does anyone out there have access to real drawings of this aircraft? This model will have twin turbines in her and will be full scale. I have found line drawings but a lot of them are not quite right. I especially need cutaway or sectional drawings of the fuselage. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Dean 🙂
I have just the thing for you maybe.
It just so happens that I work on the Sea Vixen at the Midland Air Museum and have my own manual for her. Apart from all the mechanical detail, it also has all cross sections cutaways and all the dimensions you need to build a full scale Vixen.
It’s a proper DeHavilland Manual and it will be as accurate as you will ever find with the info you need.
I’ll sort out all the info you want and send it to you. PM me so we can chat more and so I can get your address to send the drawings 😉

Dx Legends is no doubt getting predictable with the same stuff and it would be good to have something different. Their has been so many ‘this is coming’ and it don’t issue’s, people are getting fed up of going to this show and nothing really that different or worth going to look at appears.
Legends has produced some cracking displays in the past, but I think it’s time to re-think it’s approach to display flying and put some umph back into it!
BBmf, CWH Lancs, Sally B and Liberty Bell as a 4 ship would be an opener matey.
Keep the Vulcan for the Heavy Metal Shows and Legends to the Warbirds of the two World Wars:)
Oh yeah, and shift Legends one week either way:D
Well if you did as you were told you wouldnt have to continually be spoken to like a very naughty boy now would you. 😉
Ooo, smack me b***h!!:D
Very nice pictures Rob.
I think on picture one though your shading could have been a bit better around the…………………………………:p
I rather like the Zero. Kind of sums up the futility of war.
Thanks mate. Were all so used to seeing these aircraft being painted in the air or being shot down, but thought it would be a different approach and quite frankly I think it paid off 🙂
Someones been telling him to join for nigh on twelve months Lindys Lad. :p
Here we go again!:D
A Typhoon in a museum already………………
What a disaster:D
I don’t know what to say, these pictures regardless of format are absolutely incredible. 😀
I can’t believe Robmacs last ones posted aren’t photographs:eek:
Charcoal, never tried that, being left handed i would smear it everywhere:o
My friend don’t let the fact your left handed deter you from using charcoal. I to was having the same problem until I brought a tin of spray fixer. It’s a case of do a bit then spay it and so on. Works for me and works well.
Thanks for the comments by the way;)
Ok, my turn again. I have done a few since I last posted my other drawings on here so here they are. All charcoal with a little help from some lead in places.
I have to admit, I have my favourite and thats the last one, Bears Over the Valley. Three F8F Bearcats flying over the USS Valley Forge after returning from a mission on April 15th 1943. Their is just something about the character of it that makes it such a special drawing to me. 12 hours to complete over 3 days and have to admit it looks stunning in the black frame I have mounted it in.
Hang on a minute, your all talking as though this is going to lead to a war or something.
What part of Russia are no longer a threat do you not understand? I’m sure the pilot banged his head off the control collumn while bending down for his bottle of Vodka. Just made him loose his concentration for a minute or three.
Hi all, a nice collection of art and familiar people here 🙂
Here’s some of my more recent ones:
Wiek
These are incredible pictures:eek: This one of the Spit attacking the He111’s is just insperational. It’s not the same though doing them in CGI as it is doing them by hand.
Very good to look at still though;)
Rob
Stunning shots!! 😮
