… I’m currently at the show but can’t see anything out of the ordinary…

That depends on your definition of ordinary.

    Iraqi Fury’s.

A few snaps froma colleague, so credits to him, cheers Reg. Obviously Iraq and about to be containerised for onward shipment to the UK, but can anyone tell us the fates of the aircraft in the pictures? As they have folding wings, are they Sea Fury’s? I think war bounty is a ggod thing in this case, as long as they come out of hiding.

Such a shame that Robs is selling up, but I wish him all the best. A nice chap although I don’t profess to know him. I managed to provide some “ballast” to the tailplane of Miss Helen on the fateful day, and I can definately say the only problem I noticed was trying to stay sitting on the tailplane with the Merlin at max chat!

I’ve had a wander through it and have to say tht it’s pretty good, alot better than it’s description sounds. Great reproduction, the RAF museum ought to take note and use som e of the 85million pounds to restore the nations Halifax and restore their Stirling parts instead of building that silly monstrosity.:diablo::diablo:

    BBMF Lanc unlucky at Southend

Undercarriage problems at Southend curtailed my flying in the Lancaster in 2006. At the time she lost the tailwheel shimmy damper which caused an awful vibration through the aircraft on landing. We removed the damper and got it in the Hurricane for transit back to Con for overhaul, but the ability to quickly turn the damper around wasn’t in place at short notice. Nice flight though, down from Liverpool via my parents house in Cheshire (they were in the garden waving) before arriving in Essex.

    Good days.

I hope there’s none of the cutting we had to do with XR770. This was because the rules said the wings were 4″ too wide to transport without an addition license. The other pic is the rear fuselage getting lifted onto the first of two wagons.

The French can make the rules as they go, surely 😀

Yes, as a nation they seem to have a lot more balls than us Brits.

Brilliant news!!! Well done TFC, very excited by the thought of EP120 flying. The hard work is paying off and you should award yourselves a pat on the back for your efforts. That’s two down now, good luck with the next two. Hopefully see you at Legends as long as T. Aliban keep missing!!

Aeronavale (spelling) markings just look soooo right. The Rt Hon Patrick Lyndsey’s Corsair was such a looker in similar markings, where is it now??? The Avenger looks wonderful, well done all.

Just talk to some of the staff at Hendon about that metal thing outside the Milestones of Flight can. What is it? What does it do? And how much did it cost to build? They could have used the money to repair some of the buildings at Hendon or elsewhere. No one likes it and it does nothing other than soak up much needed funding.

    RAF MUSEUM – GET REAL!!!

Ask what staff? The last time I went there, The Graham White facility was shut, ( lack of staffing) as was the Sunderland side of the BoB hall. Noticed that the canteen was fully staffed though, nowt like a bit of money grabbing. Can we email the main man and post a link to this thread? The idea is real shocker, and doesn’t do a damn thing to honour the RAF’s “finest hour”. Better spend the same funds on staff and electricity, not some architectural indulgence.

Is this aircraft the former Duxford based machine? What unit aircraft are the markings depicting Steve?

In the background of the fourth image of your link, can be seen another FW190. Which one is this and who owns it? What’s the schedule for this aircraft and what markings will it feature?

Top work by all and I look forward to seeing it in the metal. Well done.
