I recently visited the Comox Air Force Museum on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada- On display there was a Pigeon desk from a RCAF Hudson aircraft. The desk held two pigeons..

erricmunk- thank you for your updates. Will pass this along as well. My own sources of info is lacking in this era of aviation and my google searches prior to posting this inquiry were lacking in any help. So a big thank you to the forum for doing what it does best!

Thanks Lynx815 for the info.. Do you happen to know the details to the “defection” story? As with most stories that are handed down facts, suppositions and myths are all mixed together.. You’ve been most helpful. Thanks again.

abr help

My grandfather was an ERK in the RAF as well, but was shipped off to the Royal Navy thru the war. He did time in Iraq before the war as well. I’ve been trying to decode his service history but I’ve been having trouble with all the abriviations. Does anyone know of a site that would enable me to decode these? Thanks.

cropped props

I remember reading some time ago the Mr. Flacks Spitfire G-FIRE had blades that were cropped as well. I’ve always wondered if she still has the cropped prop as she is now (NH904) in the US. Does anyone know if this is the case?

I had pre ordered mine from Amazon Uk and I got my copy two weeks ago. That included traveling thru the slow Canadian postal service!
Excellent book however.

Great news! May I suggest a Western Canadian tour at some point? We on the west coast would love to see and hear these great types that VWC are collecting. We are part of Canada too you know… Any way congrats on the new aircraft. Keep them coming..
