What a load of ********.
(sorry, just had to say it)
they included the ability to hunt down and destroy cruise missiles well behind enemy lines
Ooooh, wow. I presume that’s because of stealth. How this is supposed to be a new capability, who the hell knows. And what cruise missiles are being launched from behind enemy lines now?
the introduction of a new missile that allows the head-on attack and destruction of stealthy enemy missiles
Gibberish. What is *that* supposed to mean?
a tailless bomber derivative design
The FB-22 is not news.
a planned electronic attack capability so powerful that it actually damages enemy electronics
Does it have photon torpedoes too?
and modifications that would allow the aircraft’s electronic package to invade enemy computer networks.
Oh BSSSSSSSSSS. As if the pilot doesn’t have enough to do, he’s going to wirelessly invade enemy computer networks and do … what?
The tone of the conversations was sharpened by a still-unreleased report about the series of air combat training engagements earlier this year between Indian air force Su-30MKs and F-15Cs from Elmendorf AFB, Alaska; the latter were equipped with the U.S.’ newest long-range, high-definition radars.
Wasn’t it Su-30Ks vs regular F-15Cs?
Seriously, just reading that much of this article makes my brain hurt big time.
Awesome google, thanks. No pictures, I assume 🙂
I’m surprised Makeyev is putting up a challenge- their Bark SLBM, a product-improved SS-N-20, was apparently a failure. Either way, Borey was redesigned for Bulava, so it’s not like they can revive Bark if the Bulava isn’t ready on time.
Vympel, you still didn’t answer my question, how much does a Mig-29M cost to run per hour and to maintain and also compared to M2K?
I don’t know dude- if you see my previous reply, you can kinda tell I meant to put something in there, but forgot.
grr8 pics, but damn waiting to see the SMT-II upgrades (with 4 each hard points)
That upgrade isn’t going to happen- the only thing that’s been salvaged from it is the Zhuk-M radar. MiG is firmly committed to MiG-29SMT (standard- with either N019M1 or N010ME) for upgrades and MiG-29M1/M2 and MiG-29K/KUB for new-build
MiG-29K and M2’s AAR … has anyone got any?? ….. RAC-MiG sud be more proactive in publicity, i’ve not yet seen any official pics of these a/c images ….
I’ve seen pics of them, just not AAR.
The war goes nuclear in hours. The end. Don’t kid yourselves, people, noone was keeping it conventional.
OT: I guess the best looking russian cockpit is that of the Su-35UB
Well, I’ve only seen the mockup cockpits, but they’re pretty much the same (except IIRC that HUD isn’t as nice- of course that was before these new HUDs came out on the Yak-130 etc)- however, I do think the amount of blue kinda ruins the look- we’re all used to black, even though it really doesn’t make a difference.
Precisely, and the FC-1 has a MiG engine. It’s not hard to believe that MiG has some advisory role over here.
Yeah, but it’s the MiG-29 Sniper cockpit, not MiG-29M2- though *damn* if the two aren’t hard to distinguish. Elegant proof of Russia’s progress in the field.
I’ve caught the envious nutcase in pbvious lie. I’ve checked Kanwa and there was nothing on the J-45.
He’s being sarcastic, GD 🙂
(not particularly scathing sarcasm, but sarcasm nonetheless)
Correct, the IAI upgrades look very similar.
Sorry, no idea on cost. This is off topic though, we shouldn’t fill up the thread with it.
Cmon, the pilot didn’t even have a g-suit and the Nazis thought he could survive launch forces of something like 20 gs (IIRC). They were off their rocker.
saw this in china.com, it is claimed to be the cockpit of 03. can anyone confirm or disprove it?
It’s the cockpit of the Su-25KM Scorpion. The control stick gives it away:

It is similar in passing to the MiG-29M2 front cockpit though.
It was an absurd, impossible design, trust me.
Sorry mates, no buddy-buddy refueling pics in my arsenal that haven’t already been posted.
It is a well known and proven fact that the USAF have
a number of Su-27/30 in their inventory and these planes are utilized for
dogfight tactics and other aerial combat trainings purposes.
Erm- no it’s not. If it’s proven, you should be able to provide the proof.
