Good evening,
This time I have a few scans of bizjet slides. They were all taken at Le Bourget, on July 21st, 1982.
3. J2-KAC, Falcon 20, Republic of Djibouti
4. G-BFPI, Bae125. I wonder why it has so few windows. I have seen a photo, taken in 1979,
when it had more windows. Cargo conversion?
Kind regards,
Peter
Early Gulfstream 1 i think….
Good evening,
Trident Man, C-FFNM is (was) a Gulfstream 2, construction number 52, so it is definitely one of the earlier “jet” Gulfstreams. According to the Air-Britain bizjet book, it was parted out during October 2005.
The Gulfstream 1 was the turbo-prop version.
Kind regards,
Peter
At this rate, with all this Russian ‘eye candy’ I’m going to need sedation!;)
I’m still recovering from Gulfstream overload courtesy of Keith and others. I’m not complaining though:D As a kid I can remember seeing a Tu104 at LGW in the ‘modern white top-large cyrillic’ scheme.
Good evening,
Here is such a Tu104 with cyrillic scheme. Taken at Schiphol on September 25th, 1968. I hope you like this one Interflug62M.
Kind regards,
Peter
Good afternoon,
Vary evocative images Peter, particularly the Sterling DC6. I had a lot to do with their Caravelles back in the 80s. Do you have any images of props flown by a Danish airline called Flying Enterprise? it later became a/s Conair.
Thank you all for your kind words.
Sorry Interflug62M, I can’t help you, I have never seen aircraft of Flying Enterprise.
Kind regards,
Peter
Good evening,
A couple of Douglas aircraft this time.
1. DC-6B OY-STR of Sterling, seen at Albenga (Italy) on July 28th, 1968
2. DC-7 OY-AND of Internord, seen at Genoa in July 23rd, 1968
[/URL]
3. DC-4 9Q-CBG of Air Congo, seen at Brussels on September 7th, 1969
4. Globemaster I 892, seen at Turin on July 29th, 1968.
This Douglas C-74 Globemaster I is one of only 14 built shortly after the Second World War. It started life in the USAF as 42-65409 and left the Air Force in 1956. It went to Air Systems of Panama, registered HP-379. In the early sixties it flew cattle from Europe to the Middle East. Air Systems stopped flying after a crash of one of their other C-74s and HP-379 was abandoned in Milan and was later flown to Turin. I saw it there on 29th July, 1968. By that time it had been painted in CAAC colours to perform a role in the movie The Italian Job, which was released in 1969. It stayed at Turin airport on public display until it caught fire twice during 1970.
Kind regards,
Peter
