Is it me or was this Red Flag a bit unordinary in the sense that it feels this was aimed at the F-35 critics to basically shut them up?
The numerous aggressor aircraft with ECM’s (maybe even EW) systems thrown at the F-35 seemed excessive. Kinda felt they were trying to make a point to the F-35 contras.
I would say that this one about bombing radars is just a way of playing with worlds.
F-35 actually (and for a long time) cannot carry any ARM so it’s limited to use its own Jdams/laser guided bombs.
It means it could at best operate a preordinated strike against a stationary target whose location is know in advance and that have not any meaningful redundancy and/or multi-layered capacity.
Needless to say this is not what you can expect by any modern AD system, being it russian, chinese or western.
It also mean it could not operate at all in a Wild Weasel mode i.e. protecting strike packages against sudden/pop up threats.
Let’s add that if is true that in performing this task it have to be escorted by a Growler I just wonder if it would not be better to just send the AGM-88E HARM capable one of the odd couple…
This not to trash the F-35 at all, just this damned habits of persons having an humanistic background like me to critically examine any given text and their retorical figures…
(sigh) i just want to see its weapons bay open just once. What’s the deal in taking so long? And it doesn’t even have to be in flight or with missiles inside… I just want to see them open for crying out loud.

Well Reagan era had biggest debt rise since WW2 so I dont think it would be good solution for modern America.
Reagan didn’t have congress like Trump does. Trump and congress can cut spending when it comes to welfare or reform it. As of right now anyone can get some type of government handout even if you’re not disable.
So there’s a lot to go through to find the question I’m looking for so i’ll just ask and hopefully youz guys know the answer. Does anyone know the Typhoons “super cruise” speed with a CAP load? I’m assuming a Typhoon CAP load is 4-6 missiles and a center tank.
IIRC it flew with open bays as far back as 2014 (from when that ‘performance achieved to date’ slide dates). Also it reportedly launched its first missile this year – just because we didn’t see it, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
In any case, the work done on the modified Su-47 with its PAK-FA bay mock-up probably meant that there was no need to rush such tests.
But the russians love to stage a lot of their military for the populace. They have Pak-Fa doing all sorts of stuff in the air showing off to the world how great their aircraft is but they don’t video its weapons bay opening? Come on now! That is not the russian way. I’m probably in the majority when i say, if there’s no pics or video it didn’t happen. I don’t know what the big deal is…they are just weapons bay. Just one pic or short vid is all it takes.
