Thank you.
Which one is that Andy?
Theres plenty of time in the future to be spending money on the Halifax. Who knows what might happen to that but it’s here , it’s been saved. The time was quite literally running out on this Dornier. Now the only surviving example has hopefully been saved for future generations to see. Saving them is the important thing.
Interesting shot of the cockpit. I wonder what bits have been pilfered by other divers over the years though?
Touche Resmorah, 😀
I agree, looks like it has been based on a Stuka. It’s made a lovely neat dent in the sand though. Looks as though it’s been trying to burrow to Australia? 😀
Alarm set. Good luck!
Of all the years to choose. Bloomin British weather.
I’ll choose to read between the lines of this one gents…..
Sorry, but I feel very strongly about the utterly disrespectful behaviour shown towards this memorial in the prior incident and quite possibly this new one. My views are that this new incident will no doubt have an underlying reason closely associated with the previous incident whoever has vandalised it. I’m not ashamed to say it. As I already pointed out I believe that we have not seen the last of the vandalism to this memorial. It’s now become a perfect well publicised platform for whoever wants to kick us where it hurts and stir things up. I agree, we could have a period of silence but wheres that going to get us. I wonder where we would all be now if all of the men who the memorial is immortalising just sat there in silence during WW2…. So now the RAFBF has to waste it’s money on 24/7/365 security instead of more worthwhile ventures.
The racist vandals are lower than any form of scum I’ve come across yet with total contempt for anything that we respect and believe in. I can foresee that this memorial will be targeted again and again simply to stir up the tensions we are witnessing in the UK. Sadly it wil become a Mecca (no pun intended) for those who wish to stick two fingers up at our people, beliefs, and way of life.
Update from Chris Goss on TOCH here:
Just back from Ramsgate and for those interested:
Finally, 2 attempts to lift it (yesterday and today) failed to start due to the sea state; no news for certain when the next attempt will be
Isn’t there one at Cosford?
Thanks for the heads up. 🙂
How far out is the actual wreck? It’s not far at all from me so would it be possible to witness anything on the day it is raised. Even if it’s quite far out it would be nice to go down and see a glimpse of this h
If I can post a picture of the Disc I have, would you be able to identify where it came from
It’s very possible. Although there may have been several of these disc shaped access hatches dotted around the aircraft, seeing your piece might help to narrow down precisely where it was located based on it’s colour and shape etc. 🙂
