I have long wished for a Martin-Hearn built glider to be at Hooton . However due to the cost of restoration I would rather a group buys her at cost from me as I feel my work with her is done ! PM me if you wish!
PM sent!!!!!!

They were recovered a few years ago now. You can read all about them here –

The last one labelled Unknown Tempest, looks like HA557/MW404. If thats the case then when I saw it about a month ago there was definitely a pair of wings with it.

Looks like there is a last ditch attempt to save the old girl –

I often look out for you chaps when I’m round
Next time you are over why dont you book a session on the flight sim in JMAC? Drop an email to – info@spekeaero.org and sure we can sort something. 🙂

As for pictures of the old girl lit up at night I have to confess in the 5+ years of being a member I have never taken one!
Jon
No we didnt 😉
They are on a sensor and come on at night.
If everything is working you should have the tail beacon, wing tips lights plus a nice blue glow coming from under the wings. The latter is none standard but just looks good at night!
Also power isnt an issue as the aircraft is mains fed – well we need something beefy to run the flight sim as well as a kettle when needed 🙂
