Myself and several other Forumites are deeply involved in several aviation projects in the general Liverpool area so we hope to see you around some time.
In fact probably next weekend at Speke given you are both members and have met already! 😉 :p

Having asked around, it was indeed a JP cockpit which is taking up residence in the area. I believe it is the ex Millom one.
Jon
My pilots notes show nothing in the DI compass position.
Bruce
What edition is your copy Bruce?
I have two sets. The 2nd edition copy has the DI in this position, however the 3rd edition one doesnt.
So both are correct 🙂
Jon
Ok not the person I was thinking it might have been!
Hmm…..who else could it be………
Jon
Daft question – what colour was the Transit van? 🙂
Jon
Ah VS….. been a few years since I paid her a visit.
Jon
Picture of repair work mentioned above taken today.
Somewhere behind the tree you will see the roof covering change colour from white (the new stuff) to black (the old)

Starting from the top!
Why not contact Arthur W.J.G. Ord-Hume? I believe he still has the design authority on the Luton Minor!
Could you send me contact details please?
I would think it will be just as easy to make a new fin.
Agreed, but always worth a quick check before starting! Think we have all done a job at some point only to be told at the end “I could have given you one of those…”
And to complete the ensemble, a wing, perhaps ?
In store and next item to be tackled. At the moment focus has been on the fuselage.
Whose wheelbarrow was the donor frame for those wheels – or were they just sourced from the B&Q MU!
At a very quick glance they almost look plausible! Does the job for now thats the main thing. From memory they were sourced from a local company who kindly fettled them to fit the stub axles.

Aha! Was a bit confused 🙂 This site has two different Vampires with that serial. A complete and a cockpit:
http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/XD547.html
Its all the same Vampire, just the pictures are 30+ years apart! I trust you noted that first picture was taken in 1977? 😉
Going from memory here, but I think that XD547 was indeed just a pod at one time. Then at a later date built back up to a complete airframe using wings etc from XD425.
