As an educated guess Airspeed plant in Portsmouth.
The engine mounts looks Oxford and a few of the wing ones Mossie.

Howard,
If there happens to be a spare table going could we have it on pitch 41 please? 🙂 We were going to provide our own but the late addition of some more jumble items like an Anson XIX instrument panel meant we ran out of space!
If not then not to worry, we will make do with what we have 😀
Thanks,
Jon

Is it not a new old stock item given the perspex still appears to have the protective coating on?
Jon
The wings arrived at Speke this afternoon so that is it – JD is now officially 100% saved for preservation.
Jon
Title of the thread now amended to reflect that she is saved now!
In that case, whilst you are at it can you change the HS bit to Avro 😀

The Budgie has landed
Think the pictures are pretty self explanatory!
Just one more trip needed tomorrow to get the wings.

Hard to believe there is a complete 748 in that last picture!!!!!

WR977 is Newark Air Museum’s Shackleton!

Very impressive. You guys certainly dont hang about once you’ve got the green light :).
Well we have had plently of time to think about it and refine the plan! 😀

Day 4 snaps
Today was about getting JD down of her U/C, which I am pleased to say we accomplished 😀
I have quickly attached a series of shots showing the process. You will have to make do without captions for now as heading straight back out the door!
Other work achieved was –
A good start was made on getting the fin ready to be removed properly.
After striking a deal with the Fire Department we have been given the passenger seats out the ATP fuselage next to JD. So, Rod and Dave spent the day removing nearly all of them. A big thank you guys for letting us have them 🙂

I am glad to see a bit of a CAAFU 748 lives on, at least I assume that’s where the fwd door came from.
Good luck with the move. I’d better post those rivets I promised you;)
More than likely. Emerald always did wheel and deal to keep the fleet flying!
JD’s original door, still wearing the same scheme, is fitted to the cockpit G-ORAL. Looking at pictures it looks to have been poached several years ago to keep G-ORAL flying.

Some Day 2 pics as promised.
1. Mike cutting the Stbd wing
2. Stbd wing just coming away from the airframe
3. Mike once again cutting, though this time the port wing.
4. After a day and a half of derivetting, I got the stbd tailplane off without making a single cut.
5. Same was achieved on the Port tailplane.
6. Rear view of JD at the end of the day
7. Wings and tailplanes waiting patiently ready for transport back to Speke
8. Final snap of the day as we drove away 🙂
Sadly I appear not to have taken any of the sterling work Dave and Rod did inside the fuselage. Hopefully Mike didnt make the same mistake and can add some 🙂
Jon
Day 2 pictures to follow shortly 😀
