Check out the number on this Vampire Mk 3,, James Bond would be proud, very much a work in progress.
Very nice.
At least you have a complete pod which is more than I currently have with the FB.5!
Dont suppose you have either a spare nose cone or at the very least the top part of one?
Jon
Thanks for your quick relpy Bruce, so if I have a Mk 3 pod, booms and a tail, the Venom wings, engine mount would finish off a Mk 3 looking Vampire? again thank you, Darrell
Best bet is a pair of Vampire trainer wings. Will give you the right profile (though a shade under length for a Mk3 as Bruce says) and will not require modifications to the thru spar ends.
Jon
Thanks for the information chaps,
That specialist supplier is just what I need, Brian – and it’s very conveniently located too.
You should have asked – that is the place I use all the time!! Infact they supplied the aerosols I brought to Newark.
Jon
Was helping out on a Venom nose at Airbase that is being prepared to go on display.
It is (I think) missing it’s radios. Am I right in thinking they go in the two squarish hatches either side just aft of the seat? Don’t know if they are the same as a T.11’s and I don’t know if they are needed – will enquire.
Roger Smith.
That will be a swiss Venom nose so not sure RAF equipment will fit?
Whilst on the subject of CF and Venoms, I dont suppose you have seen a spare top half of a “stubby” nose cone lying around? Looking for this to marry up with the bottom half I already have to go on VZ193 🙂
Jon
pm sent Mike 🙂

What happened to the “J” at Laarbruch??
That is more than likely ZE352 which is listed at the start of this thread.
Jon
Saw ZE352/Black Bunny the other day. Still being lovingly looked after by its owner. Sure he will be along in a bit with updates and hopefully piccies 🙂
Jon
You know the gentle way, rather than the ‘your husband’s dead – get over it’ approach, more the ‘you remember how your husband used to enjoy a good laugh..’
Nice use of a Father Ted quote 😉
Jon
Cheers all.
Details have been sent over to me so will drop him a line.
Thanks,
Jon
😮
Well if that has a chance of restoration then I revise my negative comments about the A.1 Lightning!
Makes the airworthy one mentioned previously on here for 6K look like an absolute bargain.
Well I can help with a spare stick top to get someone up and running if they take it on :p
Jon
Gents,
On Saturday does anyone remember the stall in the aerojumble with the covers that were thrashing about in the wind? It was just along from the one selling the Hunter tail cone. Stall was nicely laid out selling a mixture of instrumentation and polished collectables.
Any idea who this person was as they had some bits I meant to buy on the day but got side tracked. Optimistically hoped they would be back on Sunday but no joy 🙁
Cheers,
Jon
Not sure we could get a budgie in at Speke as we are struggling for space :p:D
Jon
Hi Jon, sorry I missed you, I didn’t see your display did you have the Vampire with you?
No, I brought the Sea Hawk this time. I know you saw that as you have a picture of it above – mine is the restored one with “182” on the side 😀
