its a crying shame that she now seems to have been cut 🙁
From what I have read simple economics I am afraid. Cheapest and easiest way to move a Lightning without stripping it down but maintaining structural integrity.

Thanks Consul
Fingers crossed 🙂

Evening all,
After some help from the Coventry contingent on here.
Does anyone have either a picture of or recollect what the interior was like whilst she was at Baginton? For example were the passenger seats still in and if so how were they arranged and what colour were they.
As you will see from pictures earlier in the thread, below the windows we have nothing to work from. We spent Sunday documenting what we could that still survives and were rather surprised to find evidence of a toilet cubicle we previously didnt know about!
Jon
Really sorry to hear Druid 🙁 As said countless times already a truly lovely dog.
All the guys at the JSC send their sympathies.
Jon
So 22 people and counting are honestly expecting Johnnie to send them a PM rather than list on here as Bruce sugggested…..??
Jon
There was a pair of wings at Sopley Camp near Hurn, but with the passing of Bill Hamblin i wouldn’t like to say if they are still there..
Could you PM me or Bill the details please!!! 😀
Jon
After some more thought scratch that!!
Now thinking Mk.2H’s as fitted to Hunters etc
Jon
I assume you mean the flight deck of Starbug? 😉
Going totally from memory – the chairs had armrests and the head boxes were of the Mk.3 to Mk.7 style. So will stick my neck out and say Martin Baker Mk.3 as found in Vulcans and Victors 🙂
Jon
Seems to all come down to what you feel happy using.
All this talk of metalwork is once again tempting me to start a cockpit recreation….!!! Though I could never decide what to do lol
Jon
Whats wrong with using an angle grinder with a cutting disk?
Removes any chatter and hence damaged the edges of either or both sides and the width of the disk will help keep you running straight.
Jon
Ignore last post – just found said list in my Sea Hawk papers!:D
Jon
i wouldnt mind finding out the history of the toma to be honest, not sure where i would get the info from though, the reg is G-OLFC, if anyone can find anything please post it on here for me
To get you started 😉
Have a good look round as there are various links etc that give you more information.
Jon
Has anyone got a definitive list showing serial numbers against AWA set numbers? Just wondering if anything will stand out….?
Also just to further muddy the waters the plate on WV903 reads S4 / V8 / 269
Jon
http://s545.photobucket.com/albums/hh391/XE584/ hopefully this will take you to photo bucket where I have the first batch of pictures.
Ah ha!! The fabled data plate is in there!!
Have cropped image to help.
My initial guess is S4 / VB or 8 / 6301
Anyone else?
Jon
the firewall is quite bent mate (pardon the phrasing there) as far as im aware it was an insurance write off and went to a dealer down south who has several more cockpits at a bit of a steeper price
this one was secured by the chairman at NEAM for me
Doesnt help having an integrated engine and nose leg mount! WV838 with help from me dismantled the fuselage of G-LFSD up at the flying school over the summer (in the sim building queue for WV838 at work 😉 ) that had been written off with the same type of damage.
