Slight update the id plates for AWA builds are on the port side instead! Also it may be turned through 90 degrees.
I can see them on pictures of my Sea Hawk and the owner of WV903 popped out today and found his in the same place.
Jon
I can only assume the build plate is in the same position of AWA built airframes. Friends, romans, countryman… please check your Seahawks. :D.
I would if mine was handy!!!

So from what you have said and what I already know about this cockpit, we are looking for –
A Mk4 that was never converted to a Mk6, ended its days in RN colours with the “Wales Aircraft Museum” legend being between the RN colours and all red scheme, was likely removed for the rest of the a/c sometime is the early mid 70’s and came from a cared for background as no damage to skins etc ruling out a/c on dumps.
Any ideas folks?

Does anyone know where I can dig out more information about this unit? I came accross a note of a detachment based at Abbotsinch in 1943 and they were responsible for providing Catapult launched “Hurricats” out to Merchant Ships on the Clyde for Convoys. I was wondering if anyone had written a book on the subject.
Will have to check my copy when I get home but pretty sure they were based at Speke and covered in this book –

I did try to put a picture on but it failed to show. Not sure on the URL ? what ever so will have to get instruction on this.
Email it over if you want Graham and will post for you 🙂

Only one I could find that was truly trailer mounted.

Dear Sirs
A friend has contacted me to ask if you now have two SD360 at the museum – I know you have SSWA but can you tell me if you also have SSWO please? If so, when did it arrive please? Finally also arrival date for Jetstream G-EEST if possible – I am also the Air-Britain Specialist for these two types – so if you require historical details on the 360’s and Jetstreams, I would be very happy to help.Derek A King
A bit of reading through this thread gives –
G-SSWA – Between moving the wings and returning for the rest, fuselage accidentally scrapped at Blackpool – oops
G-EEST – arrived 9th November 2007
G-SSWO – Offered up as replacement for SSWA and arrived 11th April 2008
Hope that helps and apologies to the Millom lads if I have got any information wrong 🙂

could be off of a HS748?
My initial thought was Viscount.
So probably anything Dart powered – 748, Viscount, Herald etc etc
Jon
Last Bristol Britannia flight was 14th October 1997 when XM496 flew into Kemble having been ferried back from Africa.
Jon
I still think MJ should be saved, but some of the others look in better condition.
Said aircraft “back in the day” at Speke 🙂

Hi folks
Just been having a look through all my boxes of bits and bobs and found loads of various hunter insruments. Not enough for a full pannel buts its a start.
Im just wondering if any one has a panel they would like to part with, maybe an exchange or something.
Its worth a try
Cheers
668 🙂
Well let people know whats available for trade 🙂 Last Hunter panel I saw for sale was at Cockpitfest with a price of £70.
Also I would imagine most of the stuff you have will fit nearly anything British of that era so you can always spread the net a bit wider than Hunter.
Jon
oh dear….
Fingers crossed ‘JD is not one of them.
Jon
So have you got a Hunter GA.11 instrument panel to restore now aswell 668? 🙂
Jon
Great event and thoroughly enjoyed it. Have just about warmed up now as well 😉
The only gripe I had was how rude some of the photographers were. I expected a bit of “eagerness” as everyone understandably was keen to get their shots, however I wasn’t expecting a total suspension of basic manners  I lost track of the number of times someone standing behind me would just manhandle me until I was out their shot. No excuse me or similar, just a push on the arm or a prod in the ribs…. Then there was the muppet who continually insisted on forcing his way past my girlfriend (standing next to me), usually giving her a good wallop with his rucksack as he went and then standing in front of her ruining any view she had. Still, thankfully these fools where very much in the minority.
Rant over, job well done AA!! 🙂
Also good to finally meet you face to face Roger 🙂
