BBMF Hawker Hurricane PZ865 has civil registration G-AMAU whereas Hurricane LF363 has no civil registration.
What’s the reason for this?Regards,
Hasnt LF363 always been with the RAF whilst PZ865 has had a stint on civvy street?
Jon
ive never realised the 2 sea hawk hulks at yoevilton were scrapped a year ago, (although i believe the cockpits were saved,)
Both alive and well!
XE339 was split between two owners – one person wanted the cockpit and Roy wanted the rest for WV838, whilst WV903 is in storage with unsuprisingly forum member WV903!
The only bits that were lost were the wings which were scrapped by the Royal Navy prior to them being sold.

See just got to know where to look 😉
Also wasnt a Hunter cockpit offered for sale on the forum recently? – sure I saw a thread anyway!
Jon
Liverpool Airport is a no-no now for air displays cos of the level of commercial activity
I wouldnt be so sure…… look at BBMF venues for June 29th 😉

😮 😮 ,
oops , I was sure it was a F8 because of the cockpit, isnt a T7 a 2 seater ??
or is this a hybrid ??
from memory in the book , it was stated as a F8, but i havent seen the book for some time,
and as for the Mystere IVA cockpit, well, ive never seen one, not in private anyways, ?
would love to see pics of that one ,thanks for correcting me though, 😮 😉
Which one you talking about? I was refering to the one on the farm with Sea Hawk, Vamp etc 🙂

Do we know what Mark of Meteor? I .can’t quite reslove the Tailplane & cockpit on the G.E. image. Better still, if it’s an F.8 Has anyone got an address?

Vickers Valetta, on the ground and before colour cameras! Ok the where and when are a bit tongue in cheek 🙂
Jon
Yes Jon, Well done.
Sounds like you did it all yourself.
Perhaps a little mention for the large part the guys at the RAF Millom Museum restoration facility played in this exercise wouldn’t go amiss.
Sorry if that was the impression I gave folks – just thought I had detailed what work had been done!
So as not to leave any room for error so to speak, for the record the lions share of the work was carried out by Mike Davey with assistance from Alan and Glynn. Thanks again for your continued help and support of MLZ. 🙂
Jon
p.s. previous posts amended to further remove any ambiguity.
Sit tight and see what the guys who are doing the work say – they all post on here!
Websites can be a blessing and a curse. Take ours for example – according to that the last time we worked on the Brit was October 27th. In reality we have done tons of work but due to our webmaster having a baby daughter arrive has meant no time to update things.
Ah feeling a bit more awake now so can give a bit more detail of this weekends efforts!
The fuselage is now in one piece again. It has been plated back together so means we can steadily chip away at repairing longerons and skins whlist keeping her presentable and secure.
Other work included some patches here and there to close up more holes, the ongoing job of removing the old cockpit glazing and the joyous task of cleaning out. We ended the weekend with 2 birdnests from the cabin alone!
Jon
Only just got home but here is what the lads at Millom (Mike, Alan and Glynn with a cameo role from me) achieved this weekend 😉

Cosford would be on route if sailing to Ireland from Holyhead….
