Good to see some salvageable parts from Oscar Victor Sierra considering the number of times over the years it was set alight!
Just wish the co pilots panel had still been there! oh well……
I dont think she has ever been set alight as she has and still is only used for breathing apparatus training. Could be wrong though of course 🙂
Ok really wild guess time, Jon, how about a Brittania?
Bingo!!!
Now I could be cruel and get you to guess the plane reg as well but will be kind and admit it is from G-AOVS at Luton.
The fire department there very kindly let me go over VS at the weekend for parts to help with G-ANCF. Having got the panel home and realised that anything of use on it we already had (doh!) on CF decided that rather than junk it it would be nice to try and restore it as it differs from CF’s so would make an interesting comparison.
So on that note if anyone has any spare Brit panel parts please let me know 😀
Jon
Which makes it far too easy for me and would spoil the fun!
I’ll be pretty impressed if anyone can guess what it’s from.
Think I will let people have a few more guesses then reveal all around lunchtime 🙂
Jon
That could easily be the dash from the Ford Escort I had when I was 17 …
😀 😀 😀
Lol – and to think you know what it is as well! 😀
Argosy would be nice but nope!
Right vintage though (i think anyway 😀 )
Jon H, from the photo could it be from a 4 engine jet of some description? Id say its a Pilots panel and central panel and on the bottom right hand side there seems to be 2 twin EGT guages……. however I may well be totally wrong and look forward to the correct answer. 😀 Bex
4 engined yes, not a pure jet engined beast but an element in there and it is missing the co pilots panel as things stand…
Keep guessing 😀
Well you have to start somewhere dont you……
Now can anyone guess what it is off? for the record I do know but I know how people relish these little challenges! 😀
Apologies for the mess behind but garage was lightly flooded at the weekend!
Well does CF looked finished to you? So you cant be working hard enough :diablo:
Jon
How dare you sir ! My output is consistently high and my GP will back me up on that!
and you want to borrom my rivet gun? pah ! :diablo:
Roy.
lol – he kept that quiet at Speke at the weekend!! The miserable old so and so :diablo: Though would also explain why his output on Charlie Fox has dropped off of late :p
Have a good one buddy 😀
Jon
If I can find the pictures there are a couple large ones still dotted around at speke as well…..
And of course the old Blenheim gun butt can still be seen from the old apron 😀
Hello All
In 1959 I worked for the late great Freddy Laker on Bristol Britannias flying out of Stanstead. Freddy was the real driving force behind cheap charter flights for the masses. The company name was Aviation Traders.
It would be a fitting memorial if G-AOVF could be painted in those colours.Paddy R
Knowing what i know of Laker (Mum is ex Laker and stopped flying to have me!) surely a DC10 in Skytrain colours would be more apt for the late Sir Freddie 😀
Getting pretty dam good at putting a Britannia back together but doubt that is much use!?
Let me know if I can be of any more help Camlobe 😀
Jon
Anyone know how the Shack is progressing?
Also could someone be kind enough and furnish me with the contact details of Mr Rustys owner please – been asked to pass a panel over as am in the area this weekend 😀
Cheers,
Jon
Another one for the collection hey Dave! 😀
