Yes, Angolan Fencers. The reports were mentioning those for years but nobody ever delivered a proof. This changed with Google Earth which revealed one Su-24M at Catumbela AFB standing on a small spot with an Su-22 and three trainers (probably PC-7).

This Angolan Fencer has a black radome and sports a desert-type camouflage.. According to reports, 12 Fencers have been delivered.

Ah! Yes, I remember the google Earth photo, despite i have some doubts about the plane in question. Thanks.

By the way, where are located the “others 11”?;)

    I start a search;)

    Regards from Spain.

See Images of the Mi-8 Bulgarian Civ Helo shot down in Iraq 4.21.05. There is still a video floating around. So the feelings are they there are few if any MANPATS available for use against US helos in Iraq!?! Go for the hovering helo with a RPG!!

Very thank you for the info and pics Buddha.

With all the SA-7/14/18 and Stingers around, one would think these helos would have mount flares and IR suppressors. Or will they end up like the civilian Mi-8 did???

    Mi-8?, What Mi-8?

From what I know, Libya, Syria, Germany, Cuba and Bulgaria did not operate camouflaged Hazes. Polish and Georgian sport somewhat different color schemes.. No idea, really

BTW, funny thing is that on the page 11 below the authors actually managed to post a very rare sight of Libyan Mi-14. But they did not seem to notice the dark painted disc actually being a green Libyan roundel. 🙂

Yes, I noticed it also 🙂

Still search info about the camouflated Haze 😉 I agree with you, not Polish (more “Big bands of painting” in these) or Georgian (more colorful).

Years ago, I read an interesting article (in Air International i think) about the polish and soviet “Fitters” with nuclear capability, and his misterious flights towards the “west”. I think that was the Fitter and not the Fishbed the best “candidate” to carry nuclear weapons in Europe in “Cold War Times”. But is just an opinion.

Years ago, I have read a story about a Su-25 painted with some type of stealth painting, exhibited in a museum and quikly retired from the public, after being recongnised by a general. But no more details. I remember also a photo of this plane. Anyone has more details?

Gents let’s cut some slack here for MiG-23.

He read an article, came here, showed it to all of us, Stood by his beliefs, was proved wrong, accepted he was wrong and is being a sport about that. He will surely learn now to take articles with grain of salt.

I think we should appreciate his behavior.

Yes, and for a “Happy End” i enclose a recently nice pic of a Mi-24 🙂

I was totally wrong, i admit it, that is the same picture

No problem MiG-23MLD. Sometimes russian sources are “dangerous”.
Otherwise, I love so much your Mig-23 photos, posted in other topics. 🙂

    Cheers.
