Can’t remember the name of that pub nearby but it was a welcome break between work.
All three arrived by air.
Vulcan was without drama, only used half the available. It even taxied across the field (over tracking) to it’s final resting place. The biggest potential issue on the day was the weather. It snowed heavily moments after touch down.
Can’t see anything like that happening nowadays though.
Blimey a Frog Shackleton! Not seen one of those for a few years. 😀
Try posting on the Auster club forum. You will need to join Google groups to post though.

So Cosford, and potentially Duxford, get one flown in FOC, despite the fact the aircraft are considered ‘unserviceable’ and Newark would have to buy one?
That doesn’t strike me as fair.
No civilian CoA + few chances of getting a civilian CoA (e.g. noise requirements) + oversaturated/collapsed used biz-jet market => scrap value only.
IIRC, it took the Danish AF years to sell their 20 year old Gulfstream G-III some time ago, for similar reasons…
Yes that’s my point.
They wouldn’t need a C of A because they would still be under the Military regime.
Talking of beers and airfields…..

One of my favorites, and the brewery is on an airfield to!

Treat with caution though. 😮
I would have thought it would make more sense to arrange the sale of the aircraft before they cease flying.
At least then there would be a chance of ferrying them to their new destination, probably get a better price for them to.
I suppose that requires a bit of joined up thinking though.
I saw all these pots and pans on the Norwich apron a while back.

😀 Rest assured details will be posted here if they do – I think the question is will they be disposed of?
What would they want them for?
They must have more training airframes than they know what to do with, and their usefulness for such a roll would be limited anyway due to their age.
Still if you do get one, it wouldn’t be far to shift it, and they come apart relatively easily.
One piece wing though.
I hope Newark manage to get hold of one.
The RAF Museum do want her, but only time will tell – give it six months!
OK it was just a thought.
It has been suggested to me in the past that the condition of an aircraft was exaggerated, which justified its scrapping.
Did the RAF Museums report exaggerate the condition of the aircraft, to justify the fact they didn’t want it?
