    Going from bad to worse!!

The school education system in this country, is failing in it’s duty to educate some youngsters properly. It’s all to easy for some schools, to let the ones that have problems learning, fall by the wayside. These are the kids that turn into Yobs and troublemakers. They tend to come from poor families, whose mum or dad are poorly educated themselves. This is nothing new, so why is nothing being done about it. Put simply, it’s all because of that silly ” human rights ” law.
Yes that’s right, this silly little law is responsible for the mess this country is in now. If we are not careful, this silly little law, could cause ANARCHY on the streets of Britain, in the future, and could spell trouble for the government.
This silly little law is responsible for,

    1. Protecting criminals.
    2. Encouraging people to come to this country, who are up to no good.
    3. protecting Yobs and troublemakers.
    4. Making it impossible to discipline youngsters properly.
    5. Making it impossible for the average citizen, to feel they can defend themselves effectively, if attacked.

These are some of the things I can think of now, I am sure there are more.

Now you would think, that the human rights law, would be on the side of the law abiding citizen, but it quite clearly isn’t.
It’s effectively creating, an underclass of untouchables.

So what do I think of Britain 2007?

🙁 I am a retired PC and we could enforce the laws and have the backing of Magistrates and the Police Authority in the 60’s.

Nowdays no respect is shown for anyone and I would certainly NOT like to be a PC trying to enforce legislation in todays climate. (no backing is ever forthcoming for the Police now)

Something severe will have to be done as we cannot continue in this manner for much longer without even greater problems confronting us.

    dakota

If the law doesn’t protect the average citizen, then there is no hope for this country. I wouldn’t like to see a situation develop, where every young kid has to have a Gun for protection. There is an underclass of young people developing, which we haven’t seen before. These make the Hells Angels, look quite tame in comparison.

Maybe posted replies are thin on the ground, but if everyone who read this emailed the message out, who knows how many people signed as a result. There may be apathy, but once this started hitting the media, the Downing Street website crashed under the load. Being negative over influencing government thinking is gonna get us screwed even more. Vote with your feet. If Joe Public can’t be bothered, god help us all.

Incidentally I have no objection per se to paying by the mile as long as fuel duty and road tax are scrapped, and the fees are reasonable. I DO object to being spied upon when minding my own business, and I sure as hell do not need a robot sending out speeding tickets. If that happens, we will all be walking, because no-one can say they have never broken the speed limit on occasion. 4 times 3 points and that’s it! You could lose your license on one journey over unfamiliar territory, and miss just one speed limit sign.

That’s a good point of yours, regarding being spied upon. The worrying thing these days, is that a lot of young people don’t mind being spied upon. They take the view that, if you haven’t done anything wrong, there is nothing to worry about. I take the other view, I don’t like being spied upon. I come from an era ,when there were no cameras. Glad I experienced what it felt like then, to be a free individual, without some camera looking at me.
Once road pricing starts, we will be tracked 24/7, this is what is known as a police state.
You have admitted yourself, you wont mind paying per mile, so I rest my case. Everyone else will think like that, once it’s introduced.
Britain has changed so much, from what it used to be, it’s quite sad really.

This has just made the Television news, over 1 million have now signed up!

The Govt. say they welcome the input from the populace, but it would not necessarily sway policy. Perhaps they should read the writing on the wall.

Thanks to all who have signed to date, and continue to spread the word.

Road taxing is coming, because it’s a great way to make some money. Nothing will sway the government on this one, that’s for sure. Ok, so 1 million people sign a petition, against it. But how many people on the Aviation Forum have posted comments about it? very few, I think you’ll agree. Such is the level of interest, shown on this subject.
As usual,as with most things in this country, Joe public will go along with it.

    GRRRRRRRR

The worst thing I have received is a parking ticket, while standing next to a traffic warden, who is writing it out. This experience is both humiliating and annoying, especially when I could have avoided it, by moving my vehicle to a different set of parking bays.
Also getting a ticket, by one of those Big Brother cameras,is even more annoying. You don’t expect that particular camera, to be in the business of dishing out parking tickets.
I also got a ticket once, for momentarily driving into a Bus lane, without realizing it. Needless to say, when I received it, I gritted my teeth saying, ” Thanks, that’s just what I needed ”.:diablo:

    True ignorance.

It seems that nowadays, there is a prevelance of ignorance in society, which was unheard of 40 years ago. I think it’s all to do with the technological changes that have taken place. Cars, Computers, and T.V. have all had an effect, making us all the more insular and uncaring. Sadly things will only get worse, as the Technology becomes more sophisticated.

Why have I come to this conclusion.

Cars have made us more independent, we lose out on social contact with other people when we travel, and this creates ignorance.

T.V. is also responsible for spreading ignorance, there is plenty of ignorant behaviour shown on T.V., and a lot of people adopt this way of thinking from watching it. Yes, T.V. can be a brainwashing form of media.

Computers are also responsible for spreading ignorance. kids no longer have to learn how to spell properly, or have a reasonable standard of English and Maths. Why bother, when the Computer does it all for you.

There has always been a certain level of ignorance in the general population, but it’s never been quite as bad as it is now,in modern times.

The truth is , we are all guilty of ignorance, no one is exempt.

    Maniacal bikers.

Nobody has mentioned chav bikers yet. These are the maniac bikers who have nothing better to do, than go flat out in a 30mph area. If they see a clear stretch of open road ahead, they go completely crazy, hammering along like a Bat out of hell.

If a chav biker has to stop at traffic lights, make sure you’re not crossing the road, when they turn Green.

Why is it, that a chav biker has to have the loudest bike in Town. Don’t they realize, that roaring along a road at full decibel level, is not good for their ears, or anyone else’s. ______________________________________

Have you got a light mate?

Why is it, that when I have gone for a walk to get some exercise. On the odd occasion, a young lad or lass will ask me, ” have I got a light ”, or ” do I know what time it is ”.These seem to be two of the daftest questions, anyone could ask a complete stranger.Don’t these people have the intelligence to go out equipped.
