Any news on the T-50-3-4-5? Is it ongoing the static tests of the T-50-2 or is it in paint shop? Waiting for the statements at MAKS-2011 about how many T-50 prototypes will be put in the air before 2012:rolleyes::D

    The new Russian air guided missiles

    Tactical Missiles Corporation completes the creation of a new generation of precision weapons. New class of guided missile (SD) General Purpose (mngogotselevyh) comprise a number of developments :

    Aviation unit guided missiles 38MAE, X-38MKE and X-38MLE, 38MTE, which are designed to engage a wide range of armored, durable, ground single and group objects and surface objects in the coastal strip.

    Missiles like the X-38ME – universal weapon, used on the battlefield or in the nearest tactical depth.

    The modular product range missiles for high combat effectiveness during operations on a wide range of purposes due to the possibility of using different types of combat equipment and guidance systems:

    X-38MAE – Inertial + active radar;

    X-38MKE – + inertial satellite navigation;

    X-38MLE – Inertial + semi-active laser;

    X-38MTE – Inertial + thermal imaging.

    Half the mass of the rocket is powerful warhead (250 kg), which can be equipped with battle gear high-explosive/fragmentation (OFBCH) or penetrating (PrBCh) type – the Kh-38MAE; 38MLE X and X-38MTE or cluster warhead (KBCH) – missile X-38MKE.

    Two stage solid propellant rocket motor provides the flight of missiles with a speed exceeding the speed of sound for more than two times. Carriers of X-38ME can not just aircraft, but also helicopter gunships. Compared with the previous generation of modular launch this purpose (see Table 1.) Maximum range of applications increased by a factor of 4 (40 km versus 10 km – for the Kh-25ML).

    There are other advantages (for resource, safety, etc.).

    2. Missile System Gadfly-ME SD-X-59M2E, which is designed to destroy ground and sea targets, visually recognizable by the operator on the multifunction display. Complex “Gadfly-ME with the Kh-59M2E can be applied around the clock, including in low visibility conditions and at night, ensuring the defeat of a wide range of purposes.

    3. Aviation UR X-59MK2, which is intended to engage in tactical and immediate operational depth of a wide range of fixed ground targets with known coordinates of the location, including not having radar, infrared, and optical contrast to the surrounding background.

    Powerful penetrating warhead (weighing up to 320 kg) or cassette-type (283 kg) makes it possible to defeat well-protected targets. If there are photos district location of the target missile X-59MK2 may apply at any time of year, over any type of terrain and illumination (in the presence of contrast in the areas of correction and final guidance is not less than 10%). Circular error probable missile from a given point of sight is 3 … 5 pm

    Rockets are designed to arm the new Russian MiG-35, Su-34, Su-35, as well as prospective PAK FA.

    Good summary there. IMHO you’r probbably spot on.

    But feels like we are drifting away from the PAK-FA subject. Perhaps Mod. should move this topic to the RuAF thread instead?

    You are right this topic always goes for different directions but its clear that most of the members has a special interest to the PAK-FA as me 😉

    Whatsoever production activity in going on at KnAAPO, the RuAF order for 48 Su-35Ss to be delivered within 2011-2015 timeframe means an average production rate of just one airframe every month, quite puny.

    It raises the question whether Su-35S is really a project aimed at substantial export successes, or a way to provide Sukkhoi with funds and more work and providing VVS with some relief at tfe same time, waiting for Pak-Fa.

    Assuming Pak-Fa won’t be for a fairly long time an item available for export, Su-35S should account as the main export offer in russian portfolio since the very last years for many years to come, and stepping up production tempo, i.e. placing a first domestic order large enough to justify the involved investments, would help both driving down production’s costs and giving confidence in prospective customers it will benefit future upgrades and backports from other top of the line russian programs (i.e. avionics, engines, armaments).

    The relatively lack of interest showed by VVS (or maybe RusGovt) put a negative shadow on the future, at least at this stage.

    Even if in the following years more russian orders have to come, it is not the best message to send to international market.

    It will appear to some extent like a new stop gap, as opposed to a single large order showing a clear confidence of RuAF in the Su-35S future role in its ranks.

    Agreed verbatim, in the international market if Russia doesn’t create an low cost new generation fighter its aviation industry can face with the lack of export orders! Because there is a new player in the aviation market which’s China with its low cost fighters and huge production capacity. So in my opinion Russia needs to step up with a low cost 5th gen. fighter for preserving its historical aviation industry..

    Turksih arms industry is pretty fast paced these days it seems! is Turkey affected at all by the world economic down turn like Greece and Bulgaria?

    hey i also heard a new Turkish tank was unveiled? is it true? if so got pics?

    wha tare the chances of turkey going for JF-17’s as PLA MK2 suggests.

    Turkey is the second fastest growing economy of G-20 after China today. And I can say that Turkey is one of the least affected countries from the world economic crisis.

    Turkish indigenous MBT “Altay” unveiled at IDEF-2011 but probably it was an mock up. First protoypes are planning for early 2012!

    Pictures are here..

    In my opinion the chance of JF-17 for the TuRAF is very weak but cooperation with the Pakistan Aeronatic Complex should be more profitable for both sides…

    The first Turkish SOM (Stand-off Missile) pictures released…

    Its designed by TUBITAK SAGE, Range 180km, it has stealth capabilities with advanced materials and design features, able to engage stable or moving land or sea targets precisely…

    In Turkey the first development work for the indigenous stand off missiles has been started in 2006 by TUBITAK SAGE and after the succesful flight and shooting tests the first deliveries are planning for late 2011.

    The new missiles will be adopted to the TuRAF F-16 Block 40 and F-4 2020 Terminator fighters… And certification works are continuing for adoptation on the F-35 fighters…

    I think it is AMCA, where India and Russia will cooperate on some technologies. FGFA based on PAK FA and this new aircraft will be based on AMCA concept.

    Probably its gonna be as you said, agreed Rajan 🙂 This project can be useful for the Mig corporation for specializing the latest stealth technologies and an modernisation opportunity for the late Russian 5th gen light weight fighter. Sure if Mig takes the work..:)

    Recently there has been a major discussion about a “very big” JF-17 order by unknown countries. With the recent visit of JF-17s to Turkey, I am speculating that there is some interest in the JF-17. The latest block comes with AESA radar, IRST and other goodies.

    JF-17 is a nice aircraft but doesn’t suits the Turkish airforce’s future ambitious. Its already started works on an indigenous fighter aircraft program that will replace the F-16s and F-4s after 2023! 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Turkish Republic…

    F-35 and the TF-X is planning to be the main air dominance power of the TuRAF in the future.

    So in my opinion Turkey is in talks with the Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia for tha sale of its second hand F-16s!

    Also there are serious talks between U.S and the Romania for the sale of its second hand F-16s.

    Its probably a news of an unreliable news source:rolleyes:

    btw it says development of light fighter for IAF ( and export )..do Russia have any plans for a fifth gen light fighter as a replacemnet for the various types in russian service?

    Sure they have, but its planning after PAK-FA because of its huge development costs! According to some sources they plan to start development after 2013! So if both India and Russia need to have a light weight 5th gen fighter, why they don’t develop it together! It sounds good to me…

    http://www.brahmand.com/news/India-Russia-mulling-close-defence-cooperation/7173/1/10.html

    I wonder if they agreed for such a project, which platform will be the base platform? Russian, Indian or will they create a new platform for the new fighter? Is there going to be a Russian version or is it just an technical assistance agreement? In my opinion the best thing is to wait and see the details :confused:

    even though its a butt butt shot.. still beautiful. just wish we could see other angles.

    so since this is a serial production aircraft.. is it going right to the RuAF or still undergoing testing for a while longer?

    No available info yet 🙂 But im sure if it would be transferred to the Ruaf we would know it very well from the every news source :rolleyes:
