I’m getting very annoyed with the new fuel rates.

It goes up and down as one would expect, however the new rates appear to discriminate anyone in the GMT or CET timezone as it the price never seems to go below $1,800 all day then dips to $400 at about 3am GMT and rises quickly again so that the early risers are met with a $1,800 price again.

And now, for no fathomable reason, my stock rate has dropped an entire 1 cent in the last 2 hours. That is a lot when only sitting at 21 cent. This despite all aircraft running at about 95% load, 100% satisfaction and making close to $1m in one single click of a button! (I had made sure my entire fleet was at base last night before signing off, then I sent them all out this morning).

And getting annoyed at a game is just silly. So, if it doesn’t improve in the next few days. I’m quitting.

The fuel thing doesn’t annoy me that much, I seem to remember that when I started playing this game a couple of weeks back it was not unheard of to have $400 or $500 fuel prices in the middle of the day, though not seen them recently! I usually stay up until 1am anyway and it is rarely above $500 at that time so I buy then, bought 1.3m lbs this morning at that price!

Advertising does get me annoyed slightly, unless you go for the more expensive options it seems to have little effect on pax loads. I only have advertising for my most profitable flights DUB-ALC, and BHD-ALC, soon also to have AGP from both those airports! I find that even with billboard adverts, I make back the money in one of my 4 flights a day! All my shorter flights I go without advertising and sometimes I get flights at 100% or close to it, especially if demand is high.

EGPH, you’ve got a lot to answer for starting this thread! I was happily oblivious to Airline Manager before. Now I keep going to bed late because I end up sitting here thinking “If I wait 15 mins I can despatch that flight” and then “Oh, if I wait another 20 that one can go”…. Should be asleep now but I’m hoping fuel will drop to $400 at 1am and then I’ve got $3million to spend on it. I’m so tired!

My apologies, I think you should start a law suit against the creator though :P. I must say that the behaviour you have described rings true with me as well! Though I tend not to despatch any flights after about 10pm if they have to be returned. I always finish a day with all planes back at base! That won’t last long though! 😛

    Just bought 110,000 shares 🙂

Thank you for your very large investment! Trying to save money at the moment so bought only 15,000 in your airline though will probably make a bigger investment later in the week once I have a bit more spare cash!

Aer Eireann is finally on the stock market!! You need to have a stock rate of more than 10 cents to be included. So remember the name if your looking for stock that will work for you: Aer Eireann!

I have a similar story, my aunt still works for the MoD Police and is stationed in her home town in Fife at the moment but many years ago she was detached down to Fairford to work as security personnel at RIAT, this was maybe late 70’s early 80’s. Anyway as security and also tied to the RAF in some way she got access to crew areas an frequently got to speak to pilots RAF, USAF and just about everything AF. Anyway the story goes that this B-52 crew had been actually based at Fairford at the time and had offered her a seat for a real life sortie from Fairford to the Shetlands, search for “vodka munchers” and then back to Fairford for dinner. “How was it? I asked!” Full of excitement. “AJ you know I am terrified of flying!” came the reply!!! I could have slapped her!!!

Yes my graphs are always full of peaks and troughs, whenever you make a purchase of fuel or pay for repairs or advertising your stock rates will take a hit. Though when I shelled out $2.1 million for an E195LR today my stock price shot up, it is now $0.09, hoping to hit the $0.1 mark by tomorrow morning!

Anyway as I have already mentioned, the “Brazilian Revolution” has started at Aer Eireann with the first of 14 ordered E195s (12 LRs and 2 Standard) was delivered, the aircraft being fittingly named “Brazilian Maiden”. The LRs will serve holiday destinations in Spain and Portugal from our hubs in Belfast and Dublin whilst the standard ones will replace the Tu334 and Fokker 70 on the DUB-LTN and BHD-EDI routes respectively. We are also looking into acquiring ATR 72-600s for flights between BHD/DUB/LDY and ORK and LCY.

The airline’s tech issues continue to damage our pocket, EI-SFQ suffered a TCAS failure at Alicante last night and I had to shell out $92,000 to fix it after being told flying until Wednesday without TCAS is dangerous! EI-SFQ will be sold on Wednesday when it will be replaced by our second E195 LR, EI-MBB!!

    And I quote: –

EGPH, at Cornell University they have an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the tunneling electron microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building blocks of our universe. Roger, if I were using that microscope right now… I still wouldn’t be able to locate my interest in your problem.

You seem to care enough to post that message!:p

Thank you Kabir, I have been searching low and high for a photo of the 787 flight deck, not just a mock-up. Looks very impressive!!
