Aer Eireann route and fleet detail

    BHD – ALC – Fokker 70
    BHD – EDI – ” “
    BHD – ORK- DHC8-Q200
DUB – LTN – TU334-200:o (It was cheap OK guys)
DUB – LPL – ATR42 -500 (to be scrapped as of Sunday 31/01/10, a/c redeployed to BHD – LCY service)
    LDY – GLA Do328

All flights run 3x a day atm with the exception of BHD – ALC thats 2x daily

    Plans for the future:

    * Buy E195LRs and deploy them on routes from BHD/DUB to destinations on the Iberian Peninsula as well as the Balearics. Also replacing the F70 on the BHD-ALC route and DUB-LTN route with E195LRs

    * Upgrade my ATR fleet to the new greener ATR72 600 series on flights BHD/DUB-LCY as well as re-establishing the lost DUB-LPL route

    * Next stage is to purchase 737-700s and fly them from DUB/BHD to the Canaries and Cyprus and perhaps Malta.

    * Purchase an A318 to be based at BHD and fly it to JFK non stop every day. Then purchase a collection of B757-200s for both hubs to JFK, BOS, IAD, CLE and YYZ. (moving to BFS instead of BHD due to small runway issues)

    * Purchase a collection of 787-8s for DUB base only to west coast USA destinations and LAS, including an unprecedented, DUB-HNL route.

    * After that knock on O’Leary’s door and call him a novice, EU centric small timer!

Not that it changes anything but if you look closely isn’t the first shot an Airbus and the receding shot the 146? If so it is worse than you thought!!!

A bit like most films where characters seem to take off from an airport in one plane and land in another!

Not the wisest of moves by the young man!! Then again if the wording of the Twitter entry according to the Independent is accurate, it was clearly meant in jest after a frustrating day trying to get to Ireland. The common sense approach to dealing with this incident would be a quiet word in his ear telling him not to do it again and no more police time would be wasted!

The Daily Mail are reporting that the Citation was hit by the jet blast from the CRJ-900 and was damaged due to the extreme heat. They also just say that the plane was being tested by Flybe engineers not that it was owned by the airline. Members of another high profile forum are guessing at a LH owned aircraft!

Those pesky Flybe CRJ-900s, they are everywhere and always causing trouble!!:diablo:

This sort of thing happens from time to time I hope both aircraft are repaired ASAP!

A very good idea for a topic ad some great shots so far throughout all 3 airline groups! I have no KLM shots to share seeing as I don’t have many KLM pictures in my very limited collection and the ones I do have are so bad they would bring disrepute to this fine forum!!

I don’t know what the protocol is for suggestions of future airlines but may I suggest IB as I do have a major crush on that airline! Ironically I have have no shots of that at all but I will keep an eye on this topic and may perhaps post one day if I find a good shot of a featured airline!

I think it definitely would contravene civil liberties even if as Mr Livingstone suggests that the shock part of the bracelet would not be enabled! The shock part would bring about real issues with being made to wear something which could cause you real pain if someone decides to use it against you,. Would they also put it on elderly travellers going to Detroit to visit relatives or small children on the way to Honolulu on vacation? I don’t think so!

As for the tracking element of the bracelet I can see how much easier it could make airport officials job if you do go missing and/or are late for you boarding, however there must be privacy concerns here with airport officials who you don’t know at all being able to see exactly where you are going about an airport and supposedly you cannot switch it off. If these full body scanners which supposedly produce an indecent image of you as you pass through them and therefore (supposedly) violate child protection laws I think there will be some privacy concerns with this bracelet, especially if it is fitted to children!

I was going to PM a couple of mods with a suggestion for change if that’s what the mods are currently working on. On one other major forum I frequent the mods are elected every 6 months or so with mods always being able to run for re-election. This way mods have to remain popular with the masses or else they get kicked out by the election of the masses. Each forum’s mod team is elected at a different time of year so that the whole forum does not change mods at the same time. I am not fully aware of how the Key Pub forums work so I don’t know if a mod election system would really work on here. Also I am aware that many mods may feel an added pressure to their job having to keep up a a good “public relations” image as well as moderating! There are of course a small number of Administrators on the forum who mod the mods who do not face elections, they however do not take an active moderating law, they are more of an appeal court with mod’s decisions!

I hope this suggestion helps but I know it could be totally inappropriate for this forum.

I am told from a friend also active on this forum that a high profile mod has walked away from the forum. Is this true? 😮

    Regards
    AJ

As a new defender of the Ryanair ideology I would say if you don’t like the rules, don’t play the game!! Though if I am honest I do think that the card handling fee as well as ideas about standing room on flights and paying a Euro for use of the lavatories are all silly.
