Me too.
Word of advice to any newbies going by car. The traffic is horrendous every year. Use the park and ride-it saves a lot of time getting out of the airfield after.
Ripley!!

Welcome Dog House.
Always nice to see new folks, especially those who can keep us up to date Stateside.

There was a programme on telly a while back about the discovery of this B17-might have been Discovery Wings.
Yup, thats the one. Roy Marsden, Carol Drinkwater I think, and a wee Scottish bloke whose name I cant remember.
For all the rarity of the P39, my primary hope is that this ‘recovery’ also involves the repatriation of the pilot if indeed his remains are still with the aeroplane…
I agree entirely. This should be the number one priority of any such recovery.
Wish they’d put “Airline” back on telly.
Anyone know if it was ever released on video?
Interesting fairy story about the mysterious Lancaster, but come on!!
Silent Shackleton! Ha! The mighty growler? I dont think so!
There was a bit of debate about the Victor on this forum a while back, and if memory serves, it’s in better condition than it looks from the outside.
I’m sure someone can give more on this, but wasn’t there an issue with the matt paint?
The Shackleton,on the other hand, is quite another thing….
Delighted to hear the mighty Mars is still live and kicking.
What a beast!
Well, if his Scottish accent in that film is anything to go by, he clearly didn’t eat enough “hagus”!
Hey Dave,
Don’t blame us Yanks for the Social History Books of England.
Besides if you did the same survey he in the States you would get the same results.
Why because the PC Left of the World want everything to sound and look right. 😡
Britain, crazmainer, not England. Its one part of the U.K.!
Its not allowed, but I’m going to vote for the Shack, as I miss the sound of its Griffons so much.
Hopefully this’ll work. This is the Madiator, so called because it looks nothing like a Gladiator! Flies beautifully.
You asked the question that was in my head after I saw the film too Adwebber.
Wonder what became of them all.
Kev.
I’m really sorry to hear all that.
