    Me too.
    Word of advice to any newbies going by car. The traffic is horrendous every year. Use the park and ride-it saves a lot of time getting out of the airfield after.

    For all the rarity of the P39, my primary hope is that this ‘recovery’ also involves the repatriation of the pilot if indeed his remains are still with the aeroplane…

    I agree entirely. This should be the number one priority of any such recovery.

    There was a bit of debate about the Victor on this forum a while back, and if memory serves, it’s in better condition than it looks from the outside.
    I’m sure someone can give more on this, but wasn’t there an issue with the matt paint?
    The Shackleton,on the other hand, is quite another thing….

    Don’t blame us Yanks for the Social History Books of England.

    Besides if you did the same survey he in the States you would get the same results.
