if NATO survived the first strike i think they might have had a chance. most if not all airbases would have been obliterated also radar stations and command centres. im just glad we are all friends now…
hello to all our eastern european freinds… 🙂
in my veiw hollywood makes exellent action films, amazing sci-fi films, quite good horrer films. but for some reason they cannot make a decent war movie to save there lives……
the hellenic airforce used the dagger until the early 80s i think. did the turkish air force use them as well, when was the last operational deuces retired..not encluding the drones.
come to think of it i agree.. what i was really getting at was the B-1 was cancelled and then resserected, and the whole F-111 program was almost cancelled, the RAFs order and the navys F-111B was… 🙂
of course, it was thrust SSC…i should think so too, enyone who can drive a car at 650+ mph deserves to be a wing commander. 😉
i hope you are good at spelling……..its a fantastic forum but we are all stark raving mad…..hope you enjoy..
shame on them :dev2: ….putting a gas cutter to a vixen…i couldent do it…….
so the RAF only had 24 interceptors in 1987 !!!!!!!.
didnt thrust 2 brake the sound barrier, and that was a car..she had F-4 power…..
some amazing photos people…the B-2 one looks very spookey….. 🙂
what was that jet flying boat saunders roe made…that was a funny looking thing. its a pity the thin winged javelin never flew…the A-9 looked good.
quite a few cancelled US designs did make it though in different guises..
the YF-17 eventualy became the FA-18.. the B-1 became the much less capable B-1B, the F-111B navy interceptor became the F-111 bomber…
thats the best ive seen yet, the skywarrior with the may….that is just awesome. its a pity il-38s didnt have refuelling probes the A-3 could have topped her up….. 😀
i like that new phantom variant.. that would keep the F-4 going for a few more years. 😀
very very sad…
everyone who fought in them dark years are all heroes to me. my grandfather fought in the first world war, i can remember him telling me how hard and sometimes how terrible it was.. i will never forget the brave men and woman who gave there lives for us, and still doing so….
just the name is impressive VOODOO, i always like the single seater better then the two seater for some reason. the F-101 is like the F-4 to me, strange but beautiful looking…..was the sea dart a century fighter i cannot remember its designation……now that was wierd… 🙂
how about the old whitley a bomber i have always liked but always overshadowed by the wimpey. i admit they was a bit obsolete as a bomber but they did do exellent work with coastal command and later with transport command. another of my long forgotten faves is the bristol bombay, they did sterling work overseas as transports and bombers !!!!. what about the vickers wellesley, in my opinion one of the strangest looking aircraft the RAF has had….
