Saab 2000 – The following destinations are being dropped with no alternatives :
Paris CDG
Amsterdam
Dijon
The following routes are being terminated aswell but being offered “Ryanair Alternatives” :
Marseilles – Nimes
Toulon – Nimes
Tours – Poitiers
Caen – Dinard
Geneva – Grenoble
Chambery – Grenoble
Almeria – Murcia
Frankfurt Main – Frankfurt Hahn
Toulouse – Carcassone
Dusseldorf International – Niederrhein (Dusseldorf)
Notice how a lot of these destinations have alternatives which are milessssss away. e.g Frankfurt Main is about 10 mins from Frankfurt while Frankfurt Hahn is about 90 mins away !!!!
The following destinations with increased frequencies are:
Bordeaux (buzz – daily, Ryanair – twice daily)
Brest (buzz – 4 times a week, Ryanair – daily)
La Rochelle (buzz – 4 times weekly, Ryanair – daily)
Poitiers (buzz – 3 times weekly, Ryanair – daily)
Limoges (buzz – 3 times weekly, Ryanair – daily)
Murcia (buzz – daily, Ryanair – twice daily)
Jerez (buzz – once a week, Ryanair – twice a week)
All other destinations remain at same frequency.
I have flown buzz 4 times and they are the best low cost airline in my opinion. Everything about them were spot on. I was a bit dissapointed when I heard they would be gone so we will have to see how Ryanair copes 🙁
hope this answers everyones questions

April: LGW-ALC-LGW = easyJet
booked so far. Trips for Copenhagen planned for July and Murcia in August and October. Flights were actually booked with buzz but we got a refund and have to wait until next Wednesday when we have to re-book Ryanair flights to Murcia 😡.

RE: Low Cost Airlines
I take it your all talking about Sky Bus ? The famous planned long haul operator to start services from London Luton to Portsmouth International and New York using 767 – 500’s. Your minds can now be put at ease! lol

RE: Low Cost Airlines
Very good website dan330. Ryanair will probably announce their summer timetable once they have sorted out what buzz routes they are going to operate etc. The only other low cost airlines I can think of are Air Berlin with their City Shuttle services and Virgin Express which code shares with VLM on the London City to Brussels Route. LowFare Jet and FreshAer are other new lost airlines to look out for.

RE: AirlinerWorld March 2003
I found the FlyBe article really interesting. I didn’t realise the airline was pronounced as Fly Bee, because of their IATA code (BE) , I thought it was pronounced Fly B E. I didn’t realise they lost so much money last year – I hope they break – even as planned.
Flybe have announced today 3 new routes from Southampton:
Murcia – Daily
Malaga – Daily
Toulouse – Daily
Services will start on 19th May 2003.These services will join new services to Jersey, Dublin, Milan Bergamo, Geneva and Belfast City. Currently only Guernsey is served but at the end of this year, flybe plans to operate 11 routes out of Southampton with Barcelona and Nice suppossed to start in October 2003.

“KLM sells BUZZ to Ryanair”
Ryanair have today announced that the Buzz contract with Bournemouth International Airport has been cancelled. As a result all buzz flights due to launch on 30th March 2003 have been taken off sale. Ryanair services from Bournemouth to Dublin, Frankfurt Hahn and Glasgow Prestwick will continue.
I think this must be very bad news for Bournemouth because they seemed really keen and excited about the new services and were planning terminal expansion.

P.S: Does anyone know if Ryanair are to take Buzz’s 737-300s or just replace them with their 737-800s?
RE: Boeing… a bit P’ed off at Iberia.
>Hear hear. 2-5-2 is a terrible arrangement. I would
>absolutely dread being stick in the “5” bit.
>
>Why couldn’t they do 3-3-3 ?
I have flown with Continental Airlines on their Boeing 777-200’s and they have the 3-3-3 configuration. Very comfortable. I think British Airways have this configuration aswell. I agree with the 2-5-2 arrangment – dreadful!!!! I have travelled in the 5 bit but I was with my family so it didn’t matter. Imagine being a single traveller with 2 people on both sides of you – not good for a claustraphobic person.

RE: KLM sells BUZZ to Ryanair
Sorry I know this is a silly question but I am confused – Is Ryanair taking over Buzz completly or is it going to operate Buzz under its buzz brand as a separate subsidary.

RE: Yet Another European Low Cost Airline !!!
According to http://www.jethros.i12.com, a new Irish Low Cost Airline called Fresh Aer is planned to start flights from Ireland to The U.K and Europe using Boeing 757-200’s.
http://www.freshaer.com only offers job information at present.
I also forgot to list a few other low cost airlines:
Germany – fly dba, Low FareJet planned
Italy – Meridana may consider setting up a low cost airline
I don’t know if Air Berlin would be considered a low cost airline becuase it offers low fares and routes like City Shuttle but also offers charter services and free snacks and drinks.
I know Aer Lingus and fly.be charge for food and drinks but they are atill schedueled airlines.

RE: Ryanair Opens another European Base – Stockholm Skavsta !!!
Ryanair seem to be doing well with the London Stansted to Oslo Torp and Aarhus routes. Maybe 1 day Tampere will be served from here!

RE: KLM and BUZZ.
Oh My God!!!! I thought Buzz were doing so well. I’ve flown with them 4 times and they are the BEST low-cost airline. All there flights were full when I went with them and they fly to really good and alternative destinations e.g. Almeria, Jerez, Dijon etc. They have excellent customer service.
Maybe KLM are just thinking of selling Buzz like BA sold go just to concentrate on high business class revenue???
