Pathfinder,
You just made my day. I love Whitley pictures! Any chance of getting copies of these pics without the copyright? I am starting a registry of Whitley photo’s. I have upwards of 100 different coded Whitley’s. They would be for my own personal use.
Cheers,
Todd
Hi.
A Whitley pic for you 😀
Phil
Oh, how nice! The DC-8-63 seems to be N794AL, formerly OY-SBK of SAS/Scanair which was operated by TransOcean between May and December of 1989. Sadly it crashed in Toledo in 1992 whilst flying for Burlington Air Express…
Hi
I just looked at the slide, it is N794AL so it’s not seen the light of day for 16
years at least 🙂
Thanks for that.
Phil.

Tornados being scrapped? I’m getting old, Tonkas historic? I suppose so – liked the prototype colours for the ADV and IDF. Actually the early German Navy ones looked quite funky – any photos?
Just the one from the German Navy, the Hall 1984 🙂

Some pics from Elvington last year, and one of the real Friday the 13th in
London.

What makes you think they weren’t interested in Chris Bruggen? You are just assuming he meant Jodie :dev2:
ahahahahahah 😀
Changed mine – change my desktop photos almost as much as I change my underwear!!
What once a week, so often 😀 😀 😀 😀
The mods just moderate. Keys just provides.
Believe the problem lies in the actual forum program having the words pre-chosen, since whilst some words have been freed from their vulgar connotations others, including the shortened Richard and Bentw@ers, are off limits.
Who is offended by the word D!ck these days?Flood
So what is the problem with ben****ers, if the march issue of flypast can print it.
Phil. 🙂
definitely going to E mail Keys about this.
Scunthorpe
Cockermouth :diablo:
This is mine for now.

What i’d like to know is just who decides these things, is it the mods or is it keys, because if i came from one of these towns and the name was edited
like this all the time i would not be pleased 😡

From the Battle of Britain brochure, Hamish Mahaddie states that he got together the 36 Spits he wanted, and got 12 to fly and 12 to taxi, the rest
were used for static. how accurate this is i’m not sure. 🙂

I agree with your sentiments Archieraf, but if you read my original post I made exceptions for those who don’t speak or write English as their first language. My rant is over the multitude of people who are from English speaking countries. Even the so-called “American English” doesn’t allow for such lax spelling differentials.
Sure, some may have learning difficulties. I accept that. But I don’t understand how it can be so widespread that these two words are swapped so often, and I wonder if it is one of those fundamental flaws in the language. I can’t see that such a large proprotio of people can have some medical condition. I can only think that it is due to lack of care and attention to detail in many cases.
I myself am a very slow reader and a slow writer. I do not have a learning difficulty, but I’m one of those people who reads slowly, and often has to read a few times to absorb all the information sometimes. Many of us are like that. I take care to try and get things right, so that the message is clear, whether I’m reading or writing. I find when I’m reading that any mistake glares out to me, and it distracts my reading of a message. That is why I get so anti about it – mistakes plague my mind and I have to usually start reading again to get round it, and work out what it was trying to say. That, I’m afraid, is just how I am. In the end I usually get it right.
Communication is important, and communciating well is paramount in life, today more than ever.
Still, the younger generations can’t spell a thing these days thanks to having their brains dulled by the new texting language, so I might as well not bother. Things can only get worse I guess.
I agree with what your saying Dave, but before you pick holes in other peoples
mistakes can you tell me what the hell a ( large proprotio) IS. 😀
Fhil. 🙂
