I came across this picture in a collectors fayre in St Annes, for £2.00 just couldn’t say no 😀
Phil.
Ok, I have stared and stared at Bruggen’s picture, and I am really not sure…and I flippin’ work here  😮 :p
Hmmmmm…I will study it further…
Excuse me but it’s not my picture, it’s out of your brochure. my moneys on
Duxford though. 😀
Some random thoughts. (NB – non judgemental, just musings!)
Think you’ve convinced yerselves it’s OK.
Sounds like special pleading to me.
I don’t mind much, but there’s a lot of defensive remarks above.
Manipulating a picture after it’s been taken isn’t the same as framing (what I presume you mean Snapper) while taking it, and dodging and burning aren’t the same as cloning, Phil.
I know that, but if they could have cloned things out at the turn of the century, trust me they would 😀
Phil.
Photographers have been dodging and burning photos since the begining of the last century, so whats new?
Phil.
The place that p*ssed me off was mildenhall and those bloody lighting towers,
just had to remove THEM 😡
Phil.
Nice pic, but generally accepted these days to be of Fowlmere (totally demolished in 1919, then rebuilt for WWII) rather than Duxford.
Well b*gger me, i paid good money for that, think i should get a refund 😀
Phil.
Ashley: This is a great idea. Can it only be shown at Duxford or would it be possible to take it to another airfield clubhouse for showing? What format is it in?
Avro’s Finest: I’m afraid one of the oldest photos I have of Duxford, that would be of any interest to you, is of Mrs Finest in 1993 sheltering under the wing of an aeroplane. Sadly, the pic is in storage at the moment.
You could always bring it to Kempsford camp site at RIAT, a friend of ours
put a video of some Swiss Mirages on last year, it was quit good. 🙂
To get back on track, this is the only pic i can find taken in 1918 🙂 out of a
Duxford program 🙂
Phil.
For god’s sake don’t mention a for sale forum, i mentioned it once and there
was teddy bear’s all over the carpet
Phil.
Very pretty but a not proper fighting machine
Plus one of C.G. Phil.
This one’s quite low 🙂
Well Kev, I think the thing about taking it apart is a bit of a chicken and egg argument but I dont believe Marshalls or Bae would have put there names to it had the viability not been thoroughly checked first.
Well said, I think it was a good idea taking it apart first, it would have to be done somtime why not sooner than later, what did some people think they
would do, fill the tanks kick the tyres, and of you pop. 😀
Phil.
Thanks Bruggen 130 for that great post-war pic of Douglas Bader. 😎
J.V.
From “Pictorial History of the RAF” 1971 £ 1.50 from a Charity shop 😀
Phil.
The point i would like to make is this, the Vulcan team struggled like F$%k to
get lottery money to put a Vulcan in flight again, i for one hope they’re
succesful, Because in the future the warbird scene might, just might get more
funding for other projects. 🙂
Phil.
Hi.
This is a shot from history of the RAF. Shows Bader readying for takeoff
or is it take off 😮
Phil.
