Fleming stumbled on to Penicillin by accident,

Robert Watson-Watt is given the credit for inventing the radar. The first experimentations into what we would define as radar came in 1888 when Heinrich Hertz discovered that radio waves could be bounced off objects. In 1904, Christian Hulsmeyer patented an early warning system for shipping. Therefore, Watson- Watt did have prior research to inspire him.

Baird’s system was a dead end and only lasted a few months, the true inventor of TV as we know it today was if I’m correct the American Philo Farnsworth.

I’m sure it was Marconi or Reginald Fessenden who are given the credit for Radio.

There are a lot of myths out there, Dagurreotype for the camera, Galileo for the telescope.

    Incredible logic.
If England wanted independence, could Scotland keep London? If we take on our share in the national debt, then it follows that we take our share of the national assets, too!

But that’s what your after is it not? Planes, ships and any thing else you think your entitled to. that incredible logic you dismiss was debated in a live tv commons meeting on Tuesday, I think your all in for
    a big shock if it’s a yes vote.:highly_amused:

Well If Scotland is to keep all the oil revenue, then it’s only fair that they pay the lions share of the national dept, which is how many billions or is it trillions?

He seems to want all the advantages without any pain,
I think we should go to plan B, give them totally independence then as they are trying to sort out the resulting mess, INVADE, take over the Country lock stock and haggis, close the assembly and throw Salmond in the Tower :p

We could have a rematch at Drummossie moor Culloden:rolleyes:

He commanded RAF Bruggen in 1953 ….

Yes I know, but Crompton seems to be the only one that fits the bill.

I think that the time has come for me to apply for membership of Charlie’s ‘ignore’ list.

You know and I know that’s very unlikely, it’s just not in your make up, something tells me that you will not be able to admit your wrong, so bring it on.
