    DK999K,

I found the best way is to go through it step by step at a nice quiet airfield to start with, with someone else.

If you want i can talk you through it one evening, Its a lot simpler than it looks at first glance. PM me and we can sort out a time if you’d like. Always happy to help pilots get away from the zone !

Could yo ualso give me some info as to were you’ve been flying so far and if you have used the atc system before oin other sites.

    Regards Andy

Yeah i know that, Most dont though. Also sometimes pilots call out positions so its worth listening too sometimes for traffic info I just tend to have it on and turned down low till i get into any areas of busy traffic especially since the text started adding and deleting players all the time. Before you get to read the message its dissapeered up the screen.

I also fly on VATSIM and am always pleased with it. A great experience everytime.

I really enjoy it when it gets really busy.

Came across my first problem the other day when as always happens everywhere someone had to spoil it. Some idiot kept playing Guitar over the Unicom and pretending he was VATSIM-UK and teling people to leave the channel so he could reset the server. I just turned it off in the end fed up!

I’m up for a Forum Meet one night. Let me know when

I fly for VFedex and UPS both are excellent and posess a good selection of aircraft in the fleets. Both also offer forums which are good for support I get instant response to all my questions or requests. I know they are strictly rivals but i really enjoy being part of both.

I recently also joined Knight Air as well A smaller airline but with a wide range of aircraft available some Like the Comet and VC10 are not seen very often in the skys of Vatsim. Have only recently completed my probationary flights so far but am pleased with the service and support offered already.

I did try to join BA a while back but the wait was to long, i took my name of the list after 3 weeks. Maybe i’ll try again soon based on some of your recommendations.

TJC first of all welcome, not been here long myself but they are a good bunch.

The simulation can be as simple or complex as you want. Theres not really any way of describing it except its as real as it gets when you take it to the limit.

A joystick or flight yoke is a good idea. The keyboard is a little clumsy to be able to carry out those smooth turns. I use a age old wingman attack joystick at the moment but it does the job.

well once again welcome to the forum

Maybe the plans to turn Local post office into local crime reporting centres wil free up some money set aside for police officers. Ironique i think that the politicians have finally realized the local gossip centre would be a good place to report + solve crimes. Watch your back guys and gals that postmaster has the dirt on you ! Pity they already closed most of them is’nt it.

Also all the defence cuts should provide quite a substantial saving aswell( apart from the gross overspends and projects like the chinook and Nimrod of course ) They should be saving something!
I mean for example the UK detatchment (81 permanent personnel ) at Cold Lake are coming home and the posting closed to save money.

I was sickened to hear this aswell- We send Gurkhas home after 15 years loyal service to the crown and dont let them settle here ! but any other non national who wants to settlehere gets a house and a car and god knows what else.

And now we are going to pay 10% of the worlds debt ? OH MY GOD ! Guess who i won’t be voting for ?

I have to say, i have my dad to thank. I was a RAF brat ! I remember spending most days at school looking out the window at the aircraft coming and going in places like Laarbruch, St Mawgan and Brize Norton to name a few and not getting a lot of work done. Apparently i had a concentration problem !
I was a Air Scout for a few years but then oddly joined the Sea Cadets, and a good time i had as well. Learnt a few thinks about life there i can tell you !

My family did a lot of airshows travelling a good few miles in dads red Maxi. And the roles are now reversed as i do most of the driving. We both are also involved in Buccaneer Restorations as well and i still spend as much time as possible trekking round after aeroplanes.

That used to happen to me as well , never figured it out though. And the plane always worked correctly once loaded.

Doesn’t happen to me in 2002/4 though i have to say.

http://www.simviation.com/fs2004utilities1.htm for Afcad2.21 and traffic tools.

Afcad aligns the airfields correctly within fs database to prevent aircraft taking off on the grass and such problems in addon sceneries. Traffic tools for setting up ai traffic(never tried adding static with this)

Sounds like an extremly good idea. I think though you need to work along the following lines now from the start. A haphazard approach is noy going to do any one any favours. You need to come across as a professsional dedicated team or any contact with you will just be forgotten.

    1) Decide on a group name and internal structure. Have a descision maker.
(already you have 3/4 suggestions in this forum of which way to go and people going off to do things)
    2) Cost ?
    3) Establish contacts with Lyneham and find out the gen as to what is happenning and a well placed letter of intent.
4)find her a new home (guess this should be top of the list really)
    5) Get to know as much about the airframe as possible (look for help from other groups with comets ?)

All probably old hat to some of you but, we all seen projects like this drift off into oblivion through lack of direction. Its a good idea and an important airframe if your going do it do it right.

And yes i would most definatly like to get involved and will be talking to someone soon to get an idea as to cost of moving, a man who specialises in this kind of move.
