i thought the beaufighter was the first purpose build nightfighter? i hate seing planes in museums, if a plane wasnt built to fly it shouldnt have wings and a propeller u kno? what is the possibility of virgin sponcering aircraft, the beau could have a red V on the side or something.
I was thinkin, virgin should get a vulcan as a subsitute to the concord! paint it all white and put a union jack on the tail lol!
i cant wait for the tfc beau to fly!, but tim’s example is a british build 1, i think the TFCs example was built in Australia?
i think we ” readers” should donate money towards the beau, and possibly a Mossie.
We could ask the readers of flypast to donate a £5 to see a flying mossie or beau. Or in the beaus case to keep it in the country. Flypast could collect the money, then they could sponcer the aircraft, but the aircraft would be owned by us?
the aircraft is owned by Alain de Cadenet and is operated from North Weald. I think Alain was a presenter on that BBC2 airplane series?
this is the scheme that it is in at the moe,not as nice tho… Its better being in British or American colours than French!!!
how about this pic? i think they should of kept the aircraft in this scheme, its different. If anyone is thinking of complaining that a spitfire is in USAAF colours just renember that the TFC corsair and Wildcat are both in RNAF colours!
would Branson be able to buy the concords for from Air France if BA dont give in?
which day is better for legends? i usually go on the saturday? but ive missed some displays. I havent been in 2 years, but when i was there the Yak-9 didnt display, and it did on the sunday? any thoughts on which day?
i will hopefully be there this year, but i think next year will be a better show? yak-1? Tempest 2? fw190?
is the p-38 going to be there?
it is the only seafire that is going to be flying in Uk at the current moment, its alot rarer than alot of planes, i would prefer to see a Seafire than a TF-51( i do love mustangs tho). I disagree with Flying A, all them planes, no one else can enjoy them in a hanger, more people see a plane in the sky than in a museum or hanger!
Oh the link is to a site which has info and pics on most restorations. Is the TFC hurricane, the mark iv going to tbe the only flying mark iv in the world?
Graeme
yeah apparently the TFC have a p-36 ,p-40B and i read a while ago they have a p-40E in storage also. This makes you wonder what else they have in storage? anyone got an ideas?
Does anyone know when the Cr42 is going to fly? Does the TFC still own a fiat G55?
the Ki43 is that going to be restored off site?
i like the buchon, i think that is because there isnt alot of Axis Aeroplanes in Europe, they do look nicier with the DB tho. I think Flugwerk or Arco should get the 2 seater one? coz then they could train pilots on the type?
how many buchons does connie edwards have? last time i counted he had about 6/7?
i heard a rumour that G-EEMV is being restored in Sweden? is this true?
how many furies are there being restored in the Uk ?
i know that of the TFCs and there is supposed to be another Composite Fury being restored?
what happened to G-CBEL John Bradshaws Fury?
We do have a problem in this country with our engines, i just wish there was a company that could build and repair Centaurus engines. Plus alot of WW2 engines. how feasable is it to rebuild a Napier Sabre engine? there are problems with Napiers arent there? Hasnt the Tempest 2 got the same engine as the Fury?
im hoping the Sea Fury will be ready by legends! LA-9 v.s Fury!!
is the FW190 a new build? where is it being restored? i cant find any information on the aircraft. Is it with Flugwerk? This will be an excellent addition to the UK air circuit.
Whos is the Focke Wulf Fw190 D9 G-DORA s/n 211028?
