I found a pic of the p-47G, I wish the TFC or someone in the UK would buy this aircraft!!!!!!!!!
How badly damaged was the lanc? has anyone got any pictures from Woodward? Would kermit weeks send the lanc to be restored in the UK?
My other question is, is there any interest in Australia to get one of there Lancasters flying?
yeah i checked that site alot, it hasnt been updated in years. I cant wait to see this plane fly! Anyone know any progress, or a flying date?
i got this from
http://www.avions-de-legende.com/tablprof/Tabcoll.htm
FLYING A SERVICES
airworthy
Spitfire Mk IX, 1 Spitfire Mk XVI, 1 Spitfire Mk XVIII, 1 P-40N Warhawk,1 P-51D Mustang, 1 FM-2 Wildcat
These are under restoration :-
1 Seafire III, 1 P-47G Thunderbolt
I dont know alot about the P-47, wasnt it used in a film set?
what ever happened to that Spitfire prototype, it would be nice to have a reproduction built that flies, how difficult would it be? Historic flying limited could do it? They build enough new spitfire parts? how different was a prototype spit to a mk1?
whats the point of having a static ME109 to drive about, isnt it more worth while to have a flying me109 to fly to different airshows! duh! lol Its just me and i my dislike of static aircraft!
Is it possible to restore that me109 to flying condition? i heard a story the other week that alot of me109 engines were found in Germany? anyone know anymore info?
cheers
there were rumours of them being brought back to the UK, which i really hope they do, i also read somewhere that there was a report that in a airport near Basra there are 2 swordfishes?
i hope the Forces in Irag bring this british built planes home, i think if companies donated money towards rebuilding irag we could see these aircraft in the UK.
i might be mistaken but havent the TFC had that hurrricane iv for ages? didnt they get it from the WOGB? didnt the restoration begin straight after they swoped their old hurricane? But i bet the restoration cost was alot for this hurricane, she looks lovely! This is a weird idea, but i think it would be nice if the TFC p- 40 was repainted in RAF desert colours also?
I know, i do really respect the TFC, but i would like it if a British collector bought the aircraft, we have no airworthy B-25s in the UK!
I saw the crash footage on channel 5, i was shocked (its a shame we cant have a little face that is crying), i was going to go Duxford tomorrow but i might put it off to next year. I couldnt decide to go or not, and in the end ive decided to wait til DX legends 2004.
My condolences to the families and Friends of the crew.
I disagree with some of the people on here, i think that if legends is more of a propeller airshow, but if there is a airworthy me 262 in europe i think the TFC would deff invite it to the airshow. Reasons- the TFC p-51D shot down a Me 262 during ww2?
i think if only early jets were invited it would be good, but no bucaneers or hunters!
i think over the years we might see some more earlier jets? “korea” if you think that the la-9 is not ww2, i would like to see the F-86 dogfighting with the la-9!
But what about the p-59? what if one of those was flying, would people accept it at legends?
any bets on what the other 7 surprise aircraft r, if it is that amount ?
place BETs now!
mine r
war replica 190s ?/me 109 DASA
ju 52 DASA
Bradshaws fury
Polikarpov I-16 imported in the crate that the p-40 is going back in.
seafire?
swordfish?
TFC b-25?
i have no idea this is my guess i spose…. i would of hoped that the me109 from the states was bought over, the p-38!
what size is the replica 190? is it full size?
that is so shamefull, how can that aircraft be rotting at north weald? its not exactly in the middle of a bloody forest is it? is it possible that it would eva fly again? if the TFC B-25D leaves the shores we will have no flying B-25s in the UK.
i found this pic a while back. this is a b-25 a sandroft, i read a while back that this was being restored to airworthy standard? anyone know anymore about this?
Graeme
i cant believe i missed that,Essex boy 2! i saw a spitfire last night about 5pm, very low, couldnt see well due to sun glare!
my question is why hasnt the plane sailing cat or the former plane sailing Cat got nose turrets? it looks nicer on the north weald example?
how about that lol!
