2 airworthy airacobras and 1 kingcobra. These is number will increase hopefully with the amount of aircraft recovered from Russia? there are 4 kingcobras in the UK? does any1 know if any of them are going to be restored here? any companies interested? i want 1, but i havent got enoth pockey money!!
yay, thanks David, that is great news! when is her first flight expected? what colour scheme have you got in mind? have you got plans in the future to re-engine her with a DB?
cheers, the site of a Buchon makes me 🙂
Graeme
hey, i might be interested, is it for Free? how much is the postage cost? are you in the UK?
five mossies, that must of been a great sound!
i was wondering, it was expected that the TFC mossie would take 12 years to restore. How long would it take to build one from scratch? i would like to see a challenge on Tv to see if they can build a mossie from scratch in a month? that would be interesting! like they could already be given class, undercarriage, engines and prop.
anyone think this is a crazy or good idea?
Does anyone know if D-FDME is flying? i would like to see her at Flying legends this year?
thanks tom, yeah the La-9 is a lovely looking aircraft, there are some new pics of her on the OFMC site. Thats a shame bout the tempest,is that up for sale still ? or is that the other tempest II?
yeah, i think that Flying A should fly all these planes they have, at the moe not alot of people can enjoy seing them.
i have few questions
if the TFC keeps there mossie, will they restore it in house or send away to be restored, if?, who 2?
Second question, jim pearce has the fw189, what else does he have that could fly or be restored to fly? i would like to know what he has in store, at one point he had a Me110?
thanks
Graeme
what is it with Flying A services? they have alot of aircraft at north weald. Was there Cat painted in british colours during the summer? Flying A is a weird collection, it has a good amount of rare aircraft, which should fly. When the Seafire is restored to flyin condition is it gona fly often? i think that if its the case with the wildcat and p47G, the HAC should operate them on behalf of flying A. When they had the Corsair and hellcat at north weald, did they fly at any airshows?
Is the me109E C.4E-88 that was at Hungerford, at north weald now? Flypast had a survey out a while back and it said that they werent sure what happened to that aircraft.
Yeah if any1 could answer the question about flying A and the Me109 would be grateful!
thanks
Graeme
I would like to see more lancs flying but i would like to see a Halifax also. Its a dam shame 1 only have 1 type of our ww2 bombers left. I mean even if it was ground run it would be interesting. Look at the US bombers, they have like 16+ B-17s, 3 B-24s, this numbers are going to increase. All we have left is 2 lancs, pos 3 with kermit or east kirby.
Are there alot of Halifax or wellingtons in storage or with museums? Has Jim Pearce been able to salvage our types?
Graeme
hehe i duno when i will be next at Duxford moggy, but when i am what is it lager or bitter? lol
davem2 thanks for answering the post, what a shame, that guy should never be able to get his hands on a aircraft again. i think if the OFMC need a new build fuselage they should look in the direction of flug werk.
lol sorry RNHF instead of RNAF on my previous post. Yeah i could imagine a sunderland flanked by swordfishs!
Anyone here that the He 111P-2 5883 in Austria is up for sale, it is hope that a restoration to at least static is possible, this is great, i would like to see he 111 trying to get away from alot of hurricanes!
thanks
Graeme
i like the beaufighter to, the main reason i go to flying legends every year is to check the process of the beaufighter. I think that will be the best plane on the airshow circuit when shes airworthy!!. what is your wishlist of flying aircraft, how about a Me110?
steveyoung how about the Lysandler that he owns? that is on display? and we r not gona have a b25 for much longer as it is up for sale.
But if you are from the Uk you must agree that you would prefer to see the aircraft here, than in the states, if the company will restore and fly it ok. But what i mean is we need a another company like WOGB or TFC to operate aircraft here. There isnt enoth money in the heritage side of aircraft in the UK. If there is it goes to museums. There should be like money going towards having a flying mossie, or a halifax. i mean the sunderland should of been bought by the RNAF, to represent the aircrew that flew the craft during the convoy wars.
There needs to be more money but into our history with planes, – think we should have these aircraft flying in testoment to the crews that fought and died flying these planes.
But does any1 know about the FW190? were getting sidetracked with kermit.
hmm yeah i would like to know this, It was a great idea that a Warbird mag was supporting Sally B, i would of liked flypast or even Aeroplane monthly to sponcer the NX611 “Just Jane” East Kirkby lanc to fly. imagine that 2 lancs at airshows!
what is Flypasts offical anouncement about this?
Graeme
http://www.preservedaxisaircraft.com, not axis fighters, whats wrong with me today lol.
yeah the pic is from Preservedaxis fighters.com. This pic has puzzled me, im not sure if the Real Aeroplane company are going to use that kind of nose and use a merlin engine? or a Daimler?
