There’s some useful photo’s including a rare color one of a Hurricat on the trolley/catapult rig.

I’m working on a CAM ship (bow section) & Hurricat diorama myself and you can see some pics of it in this thread. The model is 1/72nd scale and the Hurricane is actually a repainted and modified diecast Corgi.

Why diecast? Well for about 10 years now I’ve collected (primarily) 1/72 diecast aircraft and don’t have enough free time for kits anymore, so I augment the collection with the odd modified diecast model. I got intrigued with the whole Hurricat concept and wanting a model, realised DIY was the only option.
This certainly has been my most ambitious project to date, and has progressed very slowly due to the amount of research involved in getting the catapult and trolley as accurate as possible. In well over a years searching I’ve uncovered no plans of these items so it’s been down to studying numerous photo’s and reading everything related that I can find(includings ‘Hurricats’, ‘Catafighters’ and plenty of other accounts and articles). So ollieholmes and anyone else interested, I’m happy to share info & photo’s if there’s specific details you’re seeking.

I’m still trying to sort out a few remaining details and this thread has been helpful, particularly that shot of the underside of the Hurricane sitting on the trolley (thanks contrailjj). I see I have a slight modification to make to mine now!

I’m also thrilled that there’s a former Hurricat pilot active here! Mr. cotteswold sir, may I ask a question related to the equipment layout on deck?
