Quite entitled to winge/rant Ashley by the sounds of it!

    On the dial-up connection, they seem(strangely enough…)
to have got significantly worse since ADSL became available…
Constantly engaged, unobtainable numbers and then get cut off…
At its worst i was able to view one page at a time before having to reconnect…..which is no good.
‘They’ are obviously trying to P*** so many people off with dial-ups, that they splash out and get broadband; £27 per month instead of £15ish that they were getting before. ‘Support’ dept’s then tell anyone with connection trouble to….get broadband. The crux of the matter is i’m in ‘Rural’ Cambridgeshire and it has only just become available due to ‘moving goal posts’ (connection thresholds..)

I am now a Broadband convert and personally would recommend it to all… well, all that can get it anyway.

A good freind recently left a support job with BT openworld, why? STRESS….

If you haven’t already called the operator(BT), get them to turn the ‘gain’ up at the exchange and check the line.

Speed-bumps:mad:…. prefer to think of them as ‘sleeping policemen’…much more fun! er.:o..did get ‘grounded’ on a couple of the old type; 7’s(Lotus) and traffic calming don’t mix!…..

Insurance?…suggest that the first thing they check is their insurance, before the said six groupies arrive at airfield to re-validate themselves ‘on the quiet’… and then OMG! something goes slightly wrong…… We have all read about it i’m sure.
An instructor for a morning would be the best bet, surely? Perhaps the instructor may like to ‘borrow’ the aircraft for a day in consideration of his/her time?

Try the PFA for an instructor, there should be local ‘Strut’ (group) near you. http://www.pfa.org.uk/clubroom/struts/struts_listing.asp

I think that If you were to find such a policy then the premiums would be around 75% of the ‘payout’ (just a guess mind..)…go figure!
There is always a risk in whatever we do, flying just draws the media attention every time.
If she isn’t satisfied that is safe (more risk of getting clouted around the head with golf club or ball…..)……. sign her up on an engineers course 😀 😀 and give her a spanner!

Sounds like ‘her-indoors’ needs to get real.

Good Luck on your first solo.
