Saw the video’s of Kim on facebook. Looks good!
, the Victor guys who despite the bitter disappointment of not being able to run joined us
What happened to the Victor? Hopes were high the other side of the weekend that Lindy was going to be running too, and she seemed in rude health the other week..
🙁
It annoys me.
How can a change in a certification have any physical bearing on whether an aircraft can safely carry passengers? Or earn revenue from that activity? The aircraft doesn’t know if its on a Permit or a full C of A.
It seems all going to a permit does is put a rather effective barrier to prevent an aircraft from earning its keep. So much for DeHavilland ‘support’.
Fingers crossed. I feel sorry for all the guys that worked across at CFS – and for other customers who are facing a similar issue to us.
If the worst happens… we have more blades and hubs, but it will take a while to get some of the other parts.
Bad news…
With CFS ceasing tradng we are now having to deal with a company of liquidators to try and get WR963’s No 2 propellers back.
More info as I get it.
🙁
In other news, the show goes on, and I’m told the order and positions for the Night Run event on 10 Dec have been sorted.
I’ve had dealings with county archeologists and English Heritage in a non aviation environment. Neither encounter left me with any great enthusiasm for them.
The problem, probably at the heart of the matter, is the Declaration of Arbraoath was seen by many as being betrayed in the Treaty of Union.
Shows how long this has been rumbling on, doesn’t it?
I suppose a proper referendum in Scotland would find out how much support there would be.

Utter tripe – it’s called democracy…
The difference between Scotland wanting out of the UK, and say… the UK wanting out the EU for example would be what exactly?
I’ll tell you. There isn’t one, because neither will happen.
Just using a democratic decision making process doesn’t automatically override law. As long as your laws are made in Westminster, you only have a limted say in things.
Arthur…
Find the wording and I’ll accept it. I’m looking here, but have yet to find it –
Union with Scotland Act 1706

Union with England Act 1707

It’s well past the purile name-calling stage – independence is going to happen because the majority of the Scottish electorate want it.
What they want and what they actually get are two very different things.
Short of starting a civil war, under what authority can Scotland opt out of the United Kingdom? Scotland (whether the SNP like it or not) is still a constituent country of the UK, so long as the Treaty of Union exists.
It will be interesting to see how far this goes before Mr Salmond ends up facing treason charges – given that to end up in the position he holds he had to take an oath to Her Majesty the Queen.

Scotty,
No hurry. The replica’s pretty good, it’s had a few visitors fooled. I’ve told Gary he need to start a production line!
Kind regards,
Rich
Following a couple of phonecalls (SPT has one of WR963’s props across there) it appears CFS is closed.
Don’t know the ins, the outs or why.
Rich
There was an article in Flypast magazine about the same time, written by the producer, detailing the making of the programme.
James – I still can’t get my head around how he’s done it!
The skill involved is beyond me. I got sent a picture of the yoke being built mid-week, then saw the finished thing on Saturday. Its amazing.
There’s a lot of other small parts getting done too to the same standard, so I’ve told the guys to start working their way aft once they’ve finished in the engineers position!
😀
